About this Lister

I'm a horticulturist with ten years of experience caring for outdoor plants and observing the trends of what grows well in Brooklyn microclimates. So much depends on sun, drainage, wind patterns, soil history and disturbance, and more - I always strive to follow the principle of right plant, right place. When it's right, the plants really grow themselves and require little extra care. What could be better than a yard full of flowers that come back every year? The best gardens only need cutting back once a year, a little fertilizer/compost, and some weeding and watering in summer.
