About this Service

As a painter and carpenter, I serve my community of Northeast L.A. updating and transforming living and retail spaces. My specialty is imagining what's possible and working with the space and resources my clients have.

I offer consultations remotely and in-person, so if you live in New York, we can Zoom or Facetime as you walk through the space and we talk it out. Then I draw up options and design visions so you are better equipped to communicate what you want and need to your contractor or handyperson clearly and concisely, whether I'm on the project or not.

I also offer workshops and classes on DIY painting, carpentry, and handiwork that can take place in person or online. This is great for all ages, genders, and backgrounds, as it empowers the individual to take control of their own environment.

About this Lister

I have been creating in one form or another for as long as I can remember. As a singer-songwriter, I custom-make music for film, TV, and trailers, as well as release my own songs for art's sake. Starting Ms. Fixit was a way to ground myself in contrast to the ethereal nature of music-making and other abstract creative processes. I've been able to support myself and feel more empowered in all areas of life.

Background and Expertise

I began carpentry builds at age 12! Working with my hands comes naturally. The first iteration of Ms. Fixit was at age 19, working at Brown Ledge Camp in VT as their handywoman, which I did for three summers. While pursuing my music career, I craved the beginning-middle-end of carpentry projects and began building my own furniture, then furniture for friends and family. After renovating my own apartment in Northeast L.A. in 2019, I posted B&A photos on NextDoor, thinking I could offer my skills as an occasional side hustle. Ms. Fixit took off overnight. Women reached out the most, initially, and then couples of all orientations, and then men. It has been an overwhelmingly positive experience and I'm inspired to keep growing.
