Hi! We’re Josie and Abby and we’re looking for a new roommate!

The situation:
Our third roommate was unfortunately laid off so is moving home to save money. You would be subletting her room from July 1 - August 31 with the possibility to officially join our lease September 1.

The apartment:
We live in a lovely rent-stabilized apartment (8 units total) next to Franklin Ave! We're in a fantastic location with a ton of walkable things and near the 2/3/4/5 and the S! We’re on the third floor and it’s a walk up. The building is a little older but has some really great charm (hello wooden floors!). No laundry in-unit or in the building unfortunately but lots of great walkable options nearby. There's a few things we're still looking to acquire (such as a coffee table and more art) but otherwise the apartment common areas are furnished. We like to keep things clean and calm (this is not a party house). We split the cost of wifi, utilities, cleaning supplies, and then other random things (we can discuss) like olive oil.

The room:
Yes, you read that correctly - the rent is really $990! This does not include utilities or wifi though. This is the smallest bedroom (9.5ft X 9.5ft). It has a closet and a south facing window. Josie and I have both lived in this room before - I was able to fit a full bed, desk, and dresser.
The current person living in this room is willing to leave/sell some or all of her furniture. ***Apologies that the pictures aren't the best - she has a lofted bed so it's hard to photograph so these pics are old!

Hi, I'm a 30 year old trans woman and have lived in the apartment since 2022 (my other 2 roommates moved in with their partners nearby). I work in media at a business magazine and work hybrid - otherwise I enjoy going to concerts, movies, or reading. I have a girlfriend who lives in Jersey and we usually are over at one another's apartments on alternating weekends!

Abby (she/her):
Hi! I'm a 28 year old woman and have lived in the apartment since September 2024. I am a part-time public policy graduate student and work full-time at a research firm. I work from home most days and then am either out of the house studying or in class in the evenings. I have a boyfriend who lives nearby that occasionally comes over.

Our ideal person would be the following:
-A woman/femme in your mid to late 20s or early 30s.
-You don’t have a lot of/any common room furniture.
-You're clean and are proactive about cleaning.
-You don't smoke (cigarettes or weed).
-You have a reliable income.
-You're great at communicating, are direct, and a problem solver.
-No pets (unfortunately non-negotiable).
-You have preference for staying through the year.
