PLEASE NOTE: PET CARE REQUESTED FOR THIS SUBLET
This beautiful and spacious retro apartment is on the second floor of a two-story eight unit apartment building in Koreatown. The apartment comes minimally furnished. I moved in earlier this year and have surprisingly been enjoying the peaceful effect of having very little visual clutter. The unit features french doors and windows, hardwood floors, lots of natural light, a dishwasher, a bathtub, wifi, two locked gated doorways, one designated parking spot, a washer/dryer in the basement of the building, and super kind and welcoming neighbors.
K-town is a very walkable neighborhood in central LA home to many intergenerational immigrant families. The unit is located on Berendo St between 1st & 3rd avenue – with 1st avenue being a busy area with lots of shops, and 3rd avenue being a more quiet tree lined area. You can choose your own adventure. You’ll be close to Jons, Ralphs, and Vons supermarkets, tons and tons of amazing restaurants, and YMCA Gym. You’ll also be located within a 2-5 min walking distance of the 16, 204, and 754 bus stops.
I’m an artist traveling to several artist residencies looking for a clean, low-key, trustworthy subletter to enjoy the space while I’m away. It’s a very quiet building and I’d like to remain respectful of my neighbors. Preferences and a rent discount will be given to a kind subletter who can cat sit for my sweet and shy 5 year old black short haired cat. More info in the next section.
Further Accessibility Information:
The unit is up 1 flight of stairs. The building was built in the early 20th century and has no elevator. The doors are unfortunately not ADA accessible. Besides being close to a busy street, I find that the noise level is quite low except for the occasional screeching car, drunken screaming, or holiday fireworks, aka typical city things.
I'm a queer Afro-Latinx installation artist originally from NYC and have been living in LA for the past 5 years. I'll be traveling during this time period but still accessible via text and phone call. I'll also place you in contact with the neighbors if you'd like the extra support.
