We are a couple of artists going on sabbatical from September 2025. Our beautiful, spacious house will be available to sublet for about a year (dates still flexible.)
The three-storey house has two bedrooms, a courtyard and a separate studio / office. It is fully furnished and would suit a couple, a single person, or a small family with one child.
There is a dishwasher, washer/dryer, fast internet and a record player. The house is energy efficient and has underfloor heating on the ground floor and radiators upstairs, double glazing and excellent insulation. The studio has electric heating, a projector, sound system and lots of natural light.
Located in Surrey Quays in Zone 2 (SE16), the house is a 10 minutes cycle to Goldsmiths University or a short walk to the overground (Windrush Line) and underground (Jubilee Line) trains.
It is close to the Thames Path, Greenland Dock, Southwark Park, and Stave Hill Ecological Park. There is a newly built gym and swimming pool nearby, as well as a Finnish sauna, an excellent natural wine shop, independent coffee and Italian delis.
This unique space was designed by Casper Mueller Kneer Architects and completed in 2022; it is quiet, full of light, and built with attention to detail. We’re looking for respectful tenants who will treat the house with care, as this is a self-built and much-loved home.
We are both artists, and built this space for our family. We're taking our kid out of school for a year to travel, film and do a couple of residencies. There will be a contact person in London if there are any issues.
Utility bills are not included in the rent and come to about £350 per month. There is also a lovely cleaner whose fee is £30 per week.
