Subletting my charming, furnished back house while I'm out of town for work starting June 26 with a flexible end date (earliest Aug 31, 2025 and latest January 15, 2026).
The street/neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful, and the neighbors are all really sweet people. It's a block away from Pasadena City College and lots of restaurants, cafes, boba shops, and other businesses. If you have a car, street parking is available (I will add you to my annual permit). The neighborhood is very walkable/bikeable and the house is a 10-min walk from the Allen station of the A-Line, and half a block from several bus lines.
The house has lots of natural light, and you can see greenery, trees, and sky out of almost every window. There are no shared walls so it's very private. The last few tenants have stayed for anywhere between 5-25 years, so it's very well taken care of.
This is a ground-level back house, one of three units on the property (one front house and two back houses). There is one step to get into the house and no accessibility ramp but it can be installed if needed.
The pictures you see are of the main room (which I use as a bedroom) as well as the kitchen and bathroom. There is a bedroom that I use as an office but I am in the middle of repainting it so don't have good pictures as of the time of posting, but can provide them when asked. The bedroom has lots of closet and storage space. If needed, it can function as a quasi-two-bedroom apartment since there are two separate entrances and a hallway separating the main room from the bedroom.
There is a semi-private garden as well with a table and four chairs, a raised bed, and several plants (blackberries, passionfruit, hummingbird sage, a peach tree, and more). The ideal subletter would be able to water them once or twice a week. I am working on the garden right now so I don't have good pictures as of the time of this posting but will soon/if asked. Two of my neighbors have windows facing the garden but they both usually keep their curtains closed.
There's also a laundry room with a washer and dryer that's shared with the front house neighbors. There is a heater and wall A/C in the main room.
There is a shed in the back where I will be keeping most of my things while I am away. The closets, dressers, and storage spaces in the unit will be mostly empty for you, and whatever is there (plates, etc) you will be free to use.
I am a seasonal firefighter away for work all summer and most of the fall. I have lived in this place for almost five years, working from home most of that time (I also work in film/video) and really love how peaceful and cozy it is. I love my neighbors and get along well with the landlord. I like to take care of the place and will leave it very neat and clean for you.
