Subletting my bright, cozy room for one month in a queer-friendly apartment. The room has a full bed, closet, dresser, four big windows (with blackout curtains), a desk, desk chair, and a monitor. It gets a ton of sunlight during the day, and there’s an AC if needed (though I doubt you'll use it).

You’ll be living with two wonderful women who have day jobs—friendly, respectful, and easygoing. We keep a clean and cozy home. The apartment has one bathroom with a bidet and a filtered shower head, a fully equipped kitchen (stove, oven, dishwasher), and an in-unit washer/dryer. Heads up: the dryer takes a while—clothes usually need to breathe for an hour or so afterward to get fully dry, but it does the job.

The living room has a comfy L-shaped couch, two armchairs, and a dining table that expands with four chairs—great for meals or getting some work done.

The building is small, just two units—we’re on the top (second) floor. Please note that there’s no elevator, so it’s not wheelchair accessible. It’s on Flatbush Ave, which means it’s not exactly quiet—there’s always something going on, and you'll hear the street. It does calm down during parts of the day, but if you’re noise-sensitive, this may not be the best fit.

That said, the location is super convenient. There’s a deli right downstairs, a restaurant/bar across the street, and a few dollar stores nearby. Directly across from us is a grocery store with surprisingly great-quality produce at very affordable prices. A larger supermarket is less than 5 minutes away and has everything you might need.

We’re about a 10-minute walk to the Q and 12 minutes to the 2/5 trains. Plus, there are dollar vans (minibuses) that run up and down Flatbush for just $2—you can flag them down anywhere and hop off wherever you like.

We like keeping things tidy—everyone cleans up after themselves, especially in the kitchen, and we take turns with general cleaning and trash. High-speed Wi-Fi is included.

If you have questions or want to come by to check it out, feel free to reach out!

About This Lister

Hey! I’m Riham — both she/her and they/them pronouns work for me. I’m a documentary film producer, relatively new to living in New York, originally from Damascus, Syria.

You’d be sharing the apartment with Ellie and Dshanna — both are super kind, clean, and easygoing. They have day jobs and sometimes work from home, but the apartment never feels crowded. The vibe at home is chill, respectful, and relaxed.

Rental requirements

The rent is $1200 for the month, all bills included (Wi-Fi, electricity, gas, etc.).
There’s a $500 security deposit, which you’ll get back when you move out, as long as nothing needs fixing or replacing.

Payment is due upon confirmation to secure the sublet.

I’d appreciate a reference from someone you’ve shared space with before, just to make sure it’s a good fit for everyone. If you’re comfortable, it would also be great if you could share your Instagram or another social media handle, just to help confirm identity.
