About the place:
This is a five floor walk up. I am on the fifth floor. There is no elevator. However, the apartment is quiet from neighbor noise and there is no noise above as we are the top floor. I have three lovely neighbors on the floor.
I have a cat, who you would get to be with. Rent is $1,500/month if petsitting
The apartment boasts a bay window in the main bedroom, with view overlooking St. Nicholas Park. I have a five year old, so we are outfitted with resources for young children, as well, and there is a playground directly across the street.
1 bathroom, 1 king size bed and 1 twin bed.
Full streaming television, air conditioning in both bedrooms, many fans which help cool the place down.
Hardwood floors
Sun soaked bedrooms
Wifi.
Utilities included.
There is a laundromat the next block over. There is also wash and fold pick up and delivery available down the block if you want to have laundry picked up and delivered up the stairs.
The neighborhood is walkable, charming, and steps from the ABCD train at 135th and 125th. Great coffee shops in either direction, though mostly peacefully residential along the park. Citibike rental access one block away. I also have a bike you're welcome to borrow.
About us:
We are a single mom and daughter duo. Momma is a therapist in training and daughter is an energetic five year old. We love to share our home when we can, and are looking to decamp somewhere else for the summer. We would love to host a kind, respectful, renter. Flexible on dates.
Hi! I'm Lucy (She/Her). I am a passionate and semi-newly single mother of an energetic five year old girl. We are using every creative thought we have to figure out how to bridge the summer while retaining housing in NYC. I am a recent graduate of Syracuse University where I graduated with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have been seeing clients in Brooklyn for the past two years. Our home aesthetic matches us: we are quirky, activist-leaning, arts-oriented, music lovers with a penchant for silliness. We spend our weekends dancing around new york city and visiting new coffee shops, and sometimes host a group of other moms and aunties for a weekly stitch-n-bitch. I am very responsive to text, calls, and emails, and very flexible. I want you to have what you need and enjoy your stay. My goal is that this is a mutually beneficial experience for all of us.

One month's rent upfront (if you can swing it.)
Let's have a conversation (we can start here and perhaps move to face-time to get to know each other a little bit better.)
Pets are allowed in the building. I have a cat, who would be in the apartment, most likely (unless I find a place for her for the summer.) It would be up to you whether you'd want to bring a dog into the space with the cat or not and how you might want to deal with that!
