Are you looking to live in a peaceful neighborhood near downtown LA this July? I am subletting my room in a 2 bedroom back house in historic Solano Canyon. We have a private yard, garden and porch with a view. Sit at the shaded picnic table to eat your breakfast! Walk a few blocks up the hill and be inside Elysian Park, or walk a few blocks down the hill to visit Los Angeles Historical Park. Less than a mile from Chinatown and the Chinatown Metro station, the Broadway bus is also half a block away.

Laundry in unit, water filtration in the kitchen and shower, big and well appointed kitchen, comfortable living room with couch and streaming TV, strong Wifi. Hardwood floors, plenty of sun. Full size bed with a brand new Casper mattress. Ample closet, shelf and storage space. My bedroom has a desk built in where you can write, zoom, or whatever else you need to do. I live with one kind and mature roommate. They are away at work three long days a week. We keep things tidy and flow organically around one another when it comes to chores and dishes. If you enjoy gardening, you are welcome to get your hands dirty! We live with two beautiful and friendly cats, Halo and Martini. They stay inside the house and you are welcome to keep them out of the bedroom.

House is private, up several short flights of stairs and behind a main house. We tend towards quiet living with plenty of alone time, but hosting guests is welcome and easy too (with a heads up ahead of time). Parking is reasonable, street sweeping comes twice a week but it's never too hard to find a spot. Traffic can be rough when a Dodgers game is starting or ending. If you want to attend a game, you can walk there too! Or walk/bike to the river walk down the hill. It's a 20 min walk or a 10 minute bus ride to grocery stores, plenty of options in reach, across the spectrum from bodegas to Whole Foods. We are a 15 minute drive from Glendale, Highland Park, Echo Park, Silver Lake, the Fashion District, Pico Union and more. It's super easy to access the 5, 110 and 101 freeways if you want to travel further.

My roommate is similarly inclined, and works at an art studio and as a sign painter. They are wry, thoughtful, and clean, but not uptight about it. Ask them about the garden and all the medicinal and pollinator plants they're growing :) They are in their mid 30's.

We are looking for someone laid back and self possessed who knows how to communicate their needs and boundaries. It's a plus if you like cats, or have some kind of meditation practice.
