My work has taken me to London and I’m looking to sublet my Bed-Stuy hideaway. The apartment becomes available July 1, but July 15 or August 1 move-ins are doable.

The building is a Brownstone style on a tree-lined block, steps away from Herbert Von King Park and plenty of excellent coffee shops, restaurants, and bars down Tompkins Ave. The grocery store is one block away. There’s a community garden on this street. All the neighbors are super friendly and the walk to the train never feels like 15 minutes (especially through the park), but that’s technically what Google Maps says. It's a lovely slice of Brooklyn.

This fourth floor walkup comes fully furnished with a full-sized bed, sofa, standing desk, table, television, kitchen appliances, storage and shelving. Please note: I will be removing many of my personal belongings pictured here to make room for you. Also, if you do not see yourself using all of these items, we can discuss what combination of furnishings would work best for you - some things, like the bed for example, have to stay. While it is small, the recent renovations (hardwood floors, updated kitchen and bathroom) and the privacy among the tree canopy, with no neighbors above, make it the most comfortable place I’ve ever lived in NYC.

The listed price is for rent only. You will be responsible for setting up your own gas, electricity, and internet which brings the total living cost to about $2K/month. I’d like to meet you first in person or over a video call before making a decision. Also, my job may require me to stay in the UK through next year as well, which would open up the option to extend the terms. We can discuss.

This is a great space for a single person who is moving to New York for the first time or just in between places, looking for somewhere to land. My ideal subletter is a kind, clear communicator who is both responsive and responsible. I hope you enjoy this apartment as much as I do.
