I live in a 1 1/2 bedroom apartment on the ground floor of a wonderful owner-occupied brownstone on a historic street in Harlem. The building is beautiful, the block is unlike any other in the city and the apartment has every amenity imaginable - a private outdoor patio, a bedroom that looks out over a garden, a 1/2 bedroom/office/studio, washer/dryer, dishwasher, range with a vented hood, central air and heat, a projector, ample closet space and much more.
This is my primary home and it's full of things I've collected and furniture I've made. It's a well cultivated, comfortable space to live and work in. I have a career transition in the works and I need to step away from living in New York to complete my studies. Ideally that would mean a 2 month sublet starting in August.
This is a completely legal, above board sublet and since you'll share some space - part of the garden and basement - with the owners, it's really important that you're a kind and respectful person. Unfortunately there are no pets allowed and this space may not be suitable for those with children.

I love my space and I've made it my own - hand dyed the curtains, made the furniture, stocked the kitchen with every imaginable tool (rotisserie, vitamix, dehydrator, so many skillets) and I keep my precious vinyl collection here as well.
My landlords are great and they're being flexible with me; in exchange I want a great person they won't mind sharing common space with.
