Furnished, two-bedroom, light-filled shotgun home in a beautiful, historic, diverse New Orleans neighborhood.

Two queen beds and a twin with a pull-out, furnished living room and Fully brand standing work desk, full kitchen and great, big bathroom. Great backyard space maintained by owner (me!) with tons of plants and some herbs that we'd love for anyone to partake in and add plants/herbs to. The pictures really don't do the backyard justice- its super shady with lots of mature plants I planted 5+ years ago and very lush. It's a lovely place for morning coffee/tea and really nice in the Spring/Summer nola evenings. It is a great layout for a partnered couple who wants a little extra space for guests, an individual, or two friends/roommates. Large closet with hanging rod and drawers in first bedroom. The kitchen is fully outfitted with cooking utensils, plates/silverware/mugs/pans. There is an coffee machine, a tea kettle, and a Chemex. Gas stove and burners. Gas grill out back. Happy to provide more photos and/or a video walkthrough/Facetime of the space. There are a couple updates to the space since these professional photos were taken- there are no more window units and a brand new HVAC system, as well as updated insulation and top of the line new windows. The pink couch has been upgraded in the living room and the stove is also a slightly newer white model.

Cable, high-speed wifi, security system, YouTube TV/other tv apps, and water are paid by owner. Electric is also paid by owner up to $150/month - it's very manageable to keep the bill at or under this amount.

Street parking is free and always available in front of the home. We don't have really have driveways or garages in historic New Orleans. Everyone parks on the street. :) Biking is a great way to get around.

I own, restored, and manage this home. I live on the other side. The layout is a "shotgun" style, meaning no hallways, and it is a duplex, which we call a "double". Each side of the home is completely private with private entry and back porch. The backyard space is shared. Laundry is shared and accessible via the backyard. I typically request either a laundry schedule or very open communication around usage for ease of living.

Neighborhood has walk-able coffee shops and bakeries to work from, the Free People of Color museum, Little Jazz Museum in Treme, and and Degas House are all a 10 minute walk away. 1.5 miles from both the French Quarter and City Park (the best park!). Some favorite walkable cafes/restaurants nearby if you'd like to google the local scene are: Flour Moon Bagels, Pagoda, Leo's, Addis, Lil Dizzy's, Old Road Coffee, Lamara Kitchen, Velveteen Lounge & Restaurant, Manchu Chicken. Inclusive & welcoming neighborhood. My street is right off of Esplanade Avenue, a gorgeous oak-lined old street dotted with old mansions and the most beautiful in New Orleans, in my opinion. It will take you all the way up to City Park with restaurants along the way, or down to the French Quarter. There's a local grocery and a Whole Foods a couple miles away.

About This Lister

I am a former special ed public school teacher and administrator who's taught in New Orleans and NY, I now work remotely in education. I live with my partner and our two dogs and one cat. My partner owns a great local natural wine bar in the city. This house means a lot to us and we love sharing it with others.
