This peaceful one-bedroom apartment in the heart of Austin is the perfect hide-away for a solo traveler looking to feel like an Austin resident. You’ll be walking distance from a neighborhood pool, a bookstore, many cafes, a park, and several grocery stores. Centrally located, the apartment is a 10-20 minute drive from most of the cultural hubs in Austin. Also, this is my real home - with a fully stocked kitchen and a piano!! I promise to leave you some closet space. (:

MORE DETAILS:

The apartment is on the second floor of the building - stairs only, so apologies for the lack of accessibility. I think it was built in the 80s before the ADA became law.

The cute living room and kitchen are connected by a large island/bar that's nice for breakfast and coffee. The kitchen has a little Parisian stove/oven and all the cooking pots, pans, and utensils you could need.

Just a reminder: I don't have a TV. Sorry! Go see a show!

There are two possible work spaces in the bed room: a standing desk and a little cafe table and chair. You can also work at the table on the balcony if you can brave the weather!

In the picture, the balcony is cluttered with my current ceramic projects, but I'll de-clutter and organize that so you can use it for your stay.

If you happen to be a ceramicist, you're totally welcome to use my wheel while you're here!

The mattress is a medium/firm Siena queen. You'll have four pillows and many blankets and sheets.

The laundry room is two doors down from you, with two washers and two dryers at $2 per wash or dry. They take card. The whole setup is pretty convenient.

The central A/C and heat are controlled by thermostat in the living room. I usually keep it at 76º in the summer, which I know sounds high, but Texas summer days tend to hover near 100, and air conditioners can only take things down by like 20 degrees. So, basically, that temperature will keep the A/C on all the time, haha. This apartment is from the 80s, so it can run a little warm; if you're temperature sensitive, book somewhere more modern!

It's a quiet building. I occasionally hear a little pattering from my neighbors, but honestly I'm probably the loudest person with my instruments. If you're looking for a quiet nest, this is the place.

I have a few cute houseplants for you to enjoy! They won't really need your attention, besides a few that might appreciate a splash of water every few weeks. I'll point them out.

You're close to four different grocery stores and walking distance from 3-4 cute coffeeshops in this neighborhood, which is one of my favorite parts of living here! It's very walkable, a mixture of young professionals, families, and grad students. Lots of tree-lined streets, too.

Either I or a friend will meet you there to hand off the key, point out your parking spot, and make sure you're situated. We may be able to do a lockbox self check-in situation if you're arriving at a really odd hour.

I can make myself available for video tours at many hours, since I make my own work schedule. Just let me know what's good for you!

About This Lister

I'm a gardener by day and musician/ceramicist/artist/writer by night (therefore, I'm tired...but happy). I've made my home into an introvert haven so that I have a place to recharge before or after going to the bajillions of fun events happening in Austin all the time.

I lead a band called Days of Summer, and I'd like to do a little solo touring/writing retreat this summer, so that's why I'm listing my apartment for sublet. This is my real home! I keep it comfortably clean and treat it like a place I'll live forever, so please treat it with equal TLC.

My relationship with my landlord is friendly but pretty hands off. You won't really need to interact with them.

Pronouns: she/her.

Rental requirements

Ideally, I'd like a two month sublet from one person, but I can handle one month. The dates have a little flexibility. (:

$1200 covers rent and all bills, so there are no extra fees, and I'm not asking for an extra deposit.
