A unique space that has been used for various purposes throughout the years. It’s not modern, it’s not super sparkly; in fact, the apartment could use a few upgrades. It’s colorful and eclectic and the space offers clean, spacious areas with thoughtful and quirky details.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

PARKING: Jackson Heights is a destination, so parking is a premium - and parking rules are strict.

NOISE / CHARM: Because it’s a destination, there will be traffic, there will be sirens, there will sometimes be shouting, and horns will honk. Babies and children have dramatic meltdowns and dogs bark. An artist or 2 will sing or play their instrument along 37th Avenue on nice days. Garbage trucks, cars booming the latest tunes, and drunken shouting sometimes happens. Also, parades! (see Culture).
Please note: the A/C will drown this out but it's important to mention

CULTURE: Jackson Heights has its own Pride Parade which will happen on June 1 at 12pm. https://newqueenspride.org/. During some weekends, there will be cultural pride parades that will include amplified music, live marching bands, regalia! See https://queenscb3.cityofnewyork.us/parades-block-parties-festivals/ for Calendar of Events

CONTEXT: Jackson Heights is an architectural / historic district and many of the buildings are co-ops. This apartment is located in one of the few rental buildings in the area. The neighbors are decent people, they mind their business, and will expect the same from you. People are living their lives so you will hear them. For example, the downstairs neighbor sneezes loudly at least once a day, and he likes to get his music pumping sometimes (never at an unreasonable hour and never for a very long time). You might also sometimes catch a wiff of weed or something yummy cooking if the windows are open. The neighbors upstairs can be really stomp-y sometimes (especially when the super cute 3 year old is visiting). Folks in this building are long-time residents so please keep that in mind.

EXPECTATIONS:
NYC can be a pest-infested place but this apartment is not. It’s a matter of maintenance - we keep the kitchen tidy at all times, do not leave food out and open, and get rid of trash on a nightly basis.

NO smoking
NO drugs
NO pets

If you’re a clean, considerate tenant who will care for the apartment, can appreciate the dynamic energy of the neighborhood. And if you're willing to be a respectful neighbor, I’d love to hear from you!
