Lovely large charmingly furnished one bedroom garden apartment in 1867 brick row house (house plus extension) for summer sublet. Large living room; dining area with dining table and chairs; full galley kitchen; walk in closet; full bath; large bedroom with separate cozy sitting area; use of our sweet back yard).
Light is decent for a garden floor, with bright afternoon light in the front room and diffuse morning light in the bed room; if you need lots of light throughout the day it will not be your cup of tea.
Our house is just around the corner from beautiful Fort Greene park and its wonderful summer events, close to Willoughby Avenue. Our beloved neighborhood is walkable, close to grocery stores, restaurants and cafes, a public library, and more. The building entrance is three steps down from the sidewalk, and there are no steps inside to the apartment. The C train is 6 blocks away; G train is 5 1/2; B, Q, and R trains are 11 blocks, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are 12.
Our space is clean and furnished with an eclectic mix of furniture and objects. We seek quiet and thoughtful subletters who enjoy the charms of old houses, will be respectful of our wonderful neighbors in the house (who live upstairs, wholly separate from the garden floor), and who enjoy furnishings and objects from vintage to new.
NOTE: the photo of our yard is from 4/13/25, i.e. only with a bit of green happening. In June and July the yard is replete with green, and some flowers. We have a table and chairs in the yard, and cushions to make things comfy; hammock is also available if you'd like.
We own our home, work in creative and helping professions, will be showing our space ourselves, and seek sublettors who will enjoy and be respectful of our dear space, house, and nabe.
owners and tenants
We will have an open house on Saturday, May 3rd, with a few time slots so you can see our place with some spaciousness. To apply, we ask for personal and current land people references, (or if you own your current place elsewhere, proof of that). First month rent and second as security deposit. We will sign a roommate agreement for the sublet.
