After six years in our beloved Bed Stuy apartment, on January 15th my partner and I are moving to a new live/work space in Fort Greene, to work on a new business venture.
We're looking for a responsible tenant or couple to sublease the apartment, ideally semi or fully furnished, for a six (6) or twelve month (12) term, with an option to extend. We're flexible so far as the timeline and terms (could be shorter than 6 months potentially), but the lease would need to begin on or around July 1st or 15th.
Located on the second floor of a wide brownstone on a lovely, tree-lined block, the apartment is actually two floors, of which our 1.5 bedroom is the bottom floor, with a separate "apartment" above on the top floor. These two floors are entirely separate, and function for all intents and purposes as individual apartments, having each their own living room and kitchen, but sharing an entry hallway that is closed off to each floor. My twin brother and his partner live and will continue to live on the top floor.
For that reason, this rental is a sublease, as we are unable to break the lease without impacting my brother's space above.
The bottom two floors of the building below us are a separate apartment, with a great set of quiet neighbors.
A bit about the space—
The apartment is a 1.5 bedroom, with that half bedroom currently being used as an office. You could fit a single bed in there, but the optimal layout is for a home office or perhaps a Peloton. This room has an additional closet for storage.
Large, light-filed living room with walk through kitchen and very large bedroom overlooking the backyard. One walk in closet in the living room, one in the bedroom.
The Neighborhood—
Fantastic neighborhood, conveniently off the C at Kingston/Throop, and close to our favorite Bed Stuy spots: Saraghina, Lunatico, Peaches, Barbs, Lover's Rock, Corto, Manny's Wine Shop, etc.
A bit about Us—
We're a couple, one French, one American, and have lived in Bed Stuy for eight years, and this apartment for six. I'm a set designer, and my partner is a brand strategist. We'll be starting an appointment-only furniture gallery in our new apartment.
We'll ask for three personal and/or professional references, as well as recent month's paystubs and bank statements.
One month's rent plus one month's security deposit required prior to signing.

No dogs sadly, but cats are fine.
