We’re seeking an individual or couple who value an analog urban retreat in a classic NYC neighborhood full of books and art.
Quiet, lovingly renovated and curated historic home with high ceilings, lots of light, and a backyard. The apartment is 1600 sq feet with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two offices, and a generous living room/dining area. The backyard has a terrace looking out on sunny garden w/hammock, lounge chairs, and a BBQ. The first floor has the main bedroom, an office, living/dining area, entryway and a bathroom. The bottom floor is a partial basement (with windows) and has the second bedroom/office, a second bathroom, rec room with projector, and washer/dryer. Optional monthly seltzer delivery from last glass bottle seltzer factory in Brooklyn!
The apartment is located in the heart of artsy diverse villagey Ridgewood, an old-school NYC neighborhood with the best of Brooklyn and Queens—discos, restaurants, markets— and easy public transit to Manhattan.
We are a linguist and artist/landscape architect and will be in Berlin on sabbatical for the fall semester.
We own the building and rent the upstairs apartment to friends.
We're looking for someone who can take the apartment for most of the time we're away, although there is flexibility on the start and end dates.
A small dog/cat is okay.
