We are looking for the right subletters to enjoy our special home while we are away for the summer.

ABOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD:
Vinegar Hill is a small, somewhat secret Brooklyn neighborhood just across the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges and a few blocks North of Dumbo, but worlds away. As the commercial district for the once-thriving Navy Yard, these historic blocks have much of their turn-of-the-20th-century details intact: cobble stones still line a few of the streets which, thanks to historic preservation protection, have managed to avoid much of the development that has erased so many other nearby neighborhoods. We are around the corner from two of the best restaurants in the area - Vinegar Hill House and the Brooklyn outpost of Cafe Gitane - and a quick walk to the Dumbo waterfront and Life Time, a gym/co-working space/cafe with a big indoor pool. It's about a 10 minute walk to the F train at York Street and about 12 minutes to the A/C train at High Street.

ABOUT THE SPACE:
We live on the ground floor of a standalone late-1880s house with three units and a double lot shared backyard. Our apt was the tavern that serviced what we've been told was a boarding house with two available rooms to rent upstairs. There is a large living room, a very spacious eat-in kitchen, a small bathroom, and two small bedrooms. There are definitely some "quirks," i.e. there is no sink in the bathroom. But what the apartment lacks in brand new stainless steel appliances it makes up for in character. The bedrooms are currently set up with a queen bed in one bedroom, and an Oeuf Perch bunk bed in the other so it is perfect for a family with 1 or 2 kids. But it's just as nice (nicer?) for solo travelers or couples.

No pets.
