Hey there! I’m going on tour this summer and am subletting my bedroom in our fully-furnished, two-bedroom East Village apartment for the month of July, with the possibility to extend into August (we can chat about that!). I'm looking for a kind, responsible, and communicative person to take over my room while I'm away.
About the apartment:
It’s a third-floor walk-up on the southwest corner of 11th St and Avenue B — a bright, corner unit in a clean, well-kept building. Every room gets great natural light, and the living room is furnished with a couch, armchair, TV, and an upright piano you're welcome to play. The tiled kitchen is off to the side with a round glass table, chairs, fridge, oven/stove, and all the kitchenware you'll need.
About the room:
It’s my bedroom you'd be subletting — a beautiful, sunny space with three windows that face 11th Street and Avenue B. I have a full-sized bed, a great desk, a nightstand, lots of closet space, an A/C unit, etc. The natural light and view from the room are truly special.
The neighborhood:
I love living here. Our block is part of the Open Streets program (limited car traffic during the day), so it’s active but not overwhelming. Tompkins Square Park is a block away, and there are tons of great restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops on every corner. For groceries, Trader Joe’s, Target, and Whole Foods are all nearby, and there’s a great laundromat with wash-and-fold service just downstairs. The L train is a short walk away and gets you to Union Square in just a few stops.
Roommate info:
You’d be living with my roommate, who will also be in and out of town this summer. When he’s home, he’s kind, respectful, and easy to live with. We keep the common areas clean and chill.
If you’re looking for a peaceful, sunny spot in one of the best neighborhoods in the city this July (and maybe August), feel free to reach out — I’d be happy to chat and share more details!
Hi! I'm a singer-songwriter and producer originally from the northern suburbs of Chicago. I graduated from Cornell in 2017 with a degree in history, and I've been living in NYC for the past six years — most of that time in the East Village. I also teach piano, songwriting, and production at a school on the Upper East Side.
This summer, I’ll be heading out on tour and subletting my room while I’m away. I’d describe myself as thoughtful, easygoing, and creative. Looking forward to connecting and chatting more!
Your monthly rent would be $2100, plus utilities (internet, gas, electric), which are usually around $65/month per person but may vary depending on the month and A/C usage, etc.
Security deposit is $2100, which you'd get back when your sublet ends.
