About This Lister

I’m David Rushton an artist and filmmaker and I set up MERZ as a gallery and residency as homage to the work of Kurt Schwitters. Since 2018 MERZ has welcomed over 120 artists.

The Bothy is one of three residency buildings separated across the town’s High Street. The Bothy is fully equipped and largely powered by solar.

Sanquhar offers great walking locally and as the centre of the Southern Upland Way, stretching across Scotland.
