Montauk

Hi there! I'm searching for a serene and private, furnished rental—house or apartment—for myself and my sweet pup, Lil Toni, as we explore a potential move back to the Northeast. Ideally, I’d love to find a spot near the water or walking trails, where we can enjoy our daily strolls.

I'm a remote-working therapist currently based in Asheville, and I’m planning a flexible visit north in late September or early October to reconnect with friends and family and scout potential places to settle more permanently.

The ideal space would feel calm and intentional—clean lines, uncluttered, with wood floors, great natural light, and a welcoming atmosphere. Since I work over Zoom, a strong WiFi signal is important and a tub for baths is a plus. My budget is $1400-$2500/month. Could be flexible on this for the right place. I am good with plants and happy to care for yours while I'm there. Open to stays between two weeks and a month. I’m drawn to communities with personality, access to nature, and good coffee within walking distance.

If you know of a space that might be a fit, I’d be so grateful to connect.

About This Lister

Hi Listings friends,

I’m Tess (she/her), mature and responsible 40 y/o social worker. I work remotely and run a private practice. This fall, I’ll be heading north to support one of my closest friends as she welcomes a new baby. I’m also using this time to explore the possibility of moving back to the Northeast—an area I grew to love while living in MA and NY during grad school that is closer to family and friends.

I’ll be traveling with my dog, Lil Toni, a sweet and well-behaved 43 lb Black Mouth Cur. We’re happiest when we can spend time outdoors together—walking trails, biking paths, or just wandering a new neighborhood.

A bit more about me: I'm originally from MN and miss the weather (not a popular opinion, I know) I'm looking forward to fall/beginning of winter in the NE and relaxing in the tub after a chilly hike or surf. Before going into social work, I worked as a wilderness guide for 13 years all across the western US and Canada. I led dogsledding expeditions in northern MN, and long, 45-day treks in Alaska, with time in the deserts of the southwest and boundary waters in the north. I love good stories, cooking for friends, exploring the outdoors with Toni, mountain biking and cycling, traveling, listening to live music, and curating beautiful, functional living spaces.

Given the extroverted nature of my work, I enjoy some solitude and having a peaceful place to unwind during the week. Where I can easily prepare food, get outside and get cozy afterwards. I’m drawn to communities with personality, access to nature, and good coffee within walking distance.

If you know of a space that might be a fit, I’d be so grateful to connect.
