Welcome to our sunny and spacious 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment in Oakland, available for a short-term sublet from June 2 to June 16.

While you’ll still hear the familiar hum of city life and street activity, the home offers a sense of calm, comfort, and spaciousness — perfect for someone looking to feel truly at home while exploring the Bay Area.

It’s also just a 10–15 minute walk to Lake Merritt, a beautiful spot to get a daily walk in, lounge by with a book, spark creative ideas, or spend time with friends in the sunshine.

You will love this apartment for its light, airy and comfortable vibe, making you feel right at home. It's located on the 2nd floor of a quiet 5-unit building. We also have a lot of beloved houseplants — and to make caring for them easy, we’ve placed soil moisture sensors so you can see when they need water. A few of them are very expressive and will droop a little when they need a drink 🌿

While this is a cat-friendly home, our cat will be traveling with us, and unfortunately, we’re not able to accommodate pets during the sublet.

The apartment features:

💻 A dedicated office, plus a work desk in each bedroom — perfect for remote work, creative projects, or study time.
🛏️ Two VERY spacious bedrooms, including a primary bedroom with blackout curtains for deep, restful sleep. The second bedroom also features a TV for late-night unwinding.
🛁 Two full bathrooms — the primary bathroom offers generous space and privacy, while the second bathroom includes a bathtub for soaking and slowing down.
🚗 A dedicated off-street parking space in the driveway is available for an additional $50/week — super convenient for coming and going with ease. Otherwise there is street parking.
🚉 Nearby public transportation includes AC Transit, BART, and Bay Wheels for easy commuting and city exploration.

This space is best suited for someone who is super clean, organized, quiet, and respectful — someone who will treat the space with the utmost care. It’s light-filled, creatively inspiring, and full of little joys that make it feel like home.

This is not the space for someone planning to have frequent guests, host parties, or events. We live next door to a family with two elementary/pre-teen kids, and above two older women who are very quiet and kind. We do our best to be mindful of our noise and to respect the peaceful vibe of the building — and we’re looking for someone who will do the same.

I adore this apartment — it's a true sanctuary, and I’m looking for someone who will care for it as lovingly as I do. I live in a tucked-away building and appreciate mutual respect and consideration. I am always open to questions or a conversation about anything from pricing to dates. I may also be open to renting a single room instead of the whole house.

House Rules:
To help maintain the peaceful energy of the home and be good neighbors, please note:

No parties, events, or frequent visitors — this is a calm, quiet space meant for rest and focus

No loud music or disruptive noise, especially in the evenings

Please be respectful of neighbors — we live next to a family with young children and above two lovely older women who appreciate a quiet environment

No pets allowed during the sublet (even though the home is typically cat-friendly)

No smoking anywhere in or around the building

Treat the space with care — this is our home, and we ask that you keep it clean, organized, and well-loved during your stay

Water the plants please — they’re very important to us, and we’ve placed soil moisture sensors so you can easily check how they’re doing. Some of them are quite communicative and will give a little droop when they need love 🌿

Hi! I’m Katy (she/her) — a community builder, events professional, and creative in my early 30s. I’m also a singer/songwriter, so I deeply value spaces that nurture reflection, inspiration, and a sense of ease. This apartment has been that space for me — a sanctuary that supports both my work and my art.

I’m the current tenant and have lovingly made this home my own. I’m very clean, organized, and thoughtful about how my space creates peaceful energy. I’ll be traveling for a couple of weeks for some fun and creative rest, and I’m looking for someone who will care for the space as much as I do.

I live here full time and will be your main point of contact. I have a great relationship with my neighbors and really value the calm, respectful energy in our building.
