A peaceful, quiet, sunlit sanctuary, our apartment is a perfect fit for travelers/ academics/writers/artists/designers/digital
nomads--a lovely space for writing, reading, working, or daydreaming.

Writing retreat: The apt. is equipped with two desks in the study, high-speed internet throughout, with additional work space options at the kitchen island or balcony.

While keeping the historical details, we have lovingly renovated our spacious one-bedroom home and reconfigured the kitchen to have an open plan and island with living room. We have curated the space with an incredible architect to carefully preserve the original details: restoring the original wide plank wood floors; Cross of Anthony beams; two exposed brick walls; intricate molding of the high ceilings; luminous French windows. Only one flight up (no elevator), the apartment is situated in a historic, 1920’s beautifully tiled building.

Apt. interior includes the accent of hand painted Portuguese tiles—Azulejos, in the newly renovated two bathrooms, balcony, and kitchen.

Two Bathrooms: One large bathroom with a luxurious bathtub for soaking and rain shower w/ additional shower handle and towel heater; plus a WC w/a walk-in rain shower. Both with limitless hot water and fantastic water pressure.

Bedroom: A new, high quality queen-sized bed in bedroom sun lit by tall French windows with a lovely ceiling fan.

Kitchen: This is our home and the kitchen has everything you'll need for cooking and is equipped with all new appliances: dishwasher, stove, oven, washing machine (all Bosch), espresso machine, and toaster (currently no microwave);

Wifi and TV: We have a 4K UHD, 43” Samsung Smart TV for streaming & includes cable TV;
ultra, high-speed internet.

AC & Fans: There are two new, top of the line AC units (though apt. has wonderful cross breeze), two ceiling fans, a portable standing fan, and a Niece-style, electric awning over the balcony. All windows are double paned and the electricity updated for modern appliances.

Balcony: With Southern exposure on the balcony (enclosed), and Northern exposure in the bedroom, the apartment is filled with sunlight throughout the day, trees blooming outside, birdsong in the morning, and a cross breeze.

Neighborhood: We are around the corner from a hop onto the famed Tram 28; the Campo De Ourique Mercado (similar to Time Out Market, but more authentic/less touristy); Fernando Pessoa Museum; Jardim da Parada (garden square with a café); a short stroll to the landmark green oasis of Jardim Estrela--stunning park/garden with lots of green space and unique trees, two cafes, and monthly local artisan and craft market, and famed Estrela Basilica.

Campo de Ourique is highly walkable as it is mostly flat, picturesque, filled with cafes, restaurants, wine shops—a foodie haven, boutiques, design & concept stores, galleries, book shops, vintage shops, organic fruit and vegetable market, bakeries, health food stores, large supermarkets, and gardens.

We are a pleasant, scenic walk to nearby Principe Real, Barrio Alto, Estrela (& other) neighborhoods, and within walking distance to many of the historic sites/museums/destinations in central Lisbon or just a quick Uber/Bolt/taxi/bus/tram/metro ride to any Lisbon destination—and only a twenty-minute drive from the airport. Though unique, of course, to Lisbon culture and architectural design, as a comparison, you might think of Campo de Ourique as a bit of a Park Slope/Cobble Hill or Canal St. Martin/Le Marais neighborhood vibe.

A beach chair and umbrella are available for your use--beaches are just a skip and a hop away by ferry, train, or Uber!

We are writers/professors/poets/travelers/Zen practitioners, and this is our home.

Rental: We prefer a monthly rental but a two-week stay is the minimum. This is our home and so not for short rentals.

Monthly rental: $2,575 Includes high speed wifi, cable tv, & utilities: water, electricity, & gas. There is a fee of $150 for our wonderful professional cleaning person which includes fresh bed linens and towels. Additional cleanings can be arranged upon request.

Two week rental: $1,450 (includes high speed wifi, cable tv, & utilities: water, electricity, & gas). There is a fee of $150 for cleaning person.

Security Deposit: $900 returned after departure as outlined in sublease.

Payments via Zelle w/sublease agreement.
