I'm leaving town for a couple months and need someone to help cover rent.... A great deal for what it is, and where it is:
The Apartment
A beautiful 2 bedroom in the heart of the city. It's an older building, with TONS of charm. There is an exposed brick wall that goes from the front to the back.
The front room has become an office -- so the street-facing "bedroom" has a big couch and a desk & chair for WFH instead of a bed. So the place is setup for a single person or a couple. The street itself is completely residential, and very quiet, so great for working from here.
The bedroom is in the back, with two nice windows, and is silent and wonderful for sleeping - you wakeup to birds chirping and can't hear any cars, which has been so great. I've never had better sleep. King size bed with a brand new Helix mattress I just spent $5K on so please don't destroy it.
The Neighborhood
2 minute walk to Tompkins square park. Easy walk/run/bicycle to the East River park for nice runs and walks. Thousands of amazing restaurants within walking distance, including on the block. Blah blah blah.
The Setup
Most furniture is West Elm and really nice and aesthetically pleasing. Some vintage pieces (the orange sofa and blue lounge chair - please be as delicate as possible with those). Lots of closet space. The place has EXTREMELY fast internet, a smart TV hooked up to all the streaming things. Water pressure is amazing. Closet space in the office and a separate closet for bedroom.
Can provide clean sheets (3 sets) and all the towels you need for your stay.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all the pots and pans and utensils you could possibly need, all brand new. Also have a lot of salts and spices and you're welcome to indulge. Includes also:
-great rice cooker
-Vitamix blender
-Nespresso machine (but there is great coffee in the hood, obviously)
-microwave
-stove & oven
-dishwasher
I'm a writer and I have a bunch of books in the place you're welcome to read them and otherwise make yourself at home. My girlfriend and I live here together - and we have been very comfortable and happy as a couple within the space.
We are leaving town for 2 months and so just looking to cover the rent, nothing more.
I'd want to sign a very standard issue "sublet agreement" so we both have peace of mind.
Can give you the keys remotely - once money is transferred.
Open to someone who might only want 1 of the 2 months... but not anything less than 1 month.
