Sunny Quiet 2 Bedroom in Coop Building

Apartments for Rent

$2,200/month

Available

September 1, 2025 - September 1, 2026

Neighborhood

Flatbush, Brooklyn

Size

720 sq. ft.

I’m looking to rent my spacious two-bedroom apartment in Flatbush, Brooklyn. Located on the 5th floor (with an elevator), my unit has a split layout, offering privacy with bedrooms on opposite ends of the apartment. The oversized primary bedroom easily accommodates a king-size bed, multiple dressers, and even a cozy sitting area or workspace. Across the home, the sunny second bedroom would be perfect for a home office, guest space, or nursery but could comfortably accommodate a full-sized bed should roommates wish to live here. The kitchen features stainless steel appliances, ample cabinet space, and a small washer/dryer.

The unit is currently furnished as shown in the pictures, and could be rented either furnished or unfurnished.

At the intersection of Nostrand and Foster, the location is less than a block from the 2/5 train at Newkirk Avenue and a quick commute into the city. There are multiple grocery stores on the same block, and the dining, arts, and beautiful Victorian homes of Ditmas Park are a ten minute walk away. It’s just ten minutes from Brooklyn College.

The unit is in a co-op apartment building. The building is pet-friendly, with a live-in super, an elevator and an outdoor courtyard.

About This Lister

My name is Max (he/him) and I'm a 42 year old history teacher who lives and works in Brooklyn. I own the apartment but I now live with my partner in Prospect Heights, so I am looking to find a renter. I would be your contact person, and as I live nearby and work in Brooklyn, I would be available to resolve any concerns or fix any problems with the unit that the live-in super could not address.

Lister's Relationship to the Space

I am the owner.

Rental requirements

Monthly rent is $2,200. This does not include utilities and internet, which I would ask you to set up and pay for separately. The building is wired for Verizon FIOS. The rental would be for 1 year, with the possibility of extension for a second year.

Please contact me to set up a viewing!

Move in date is September 1, but I’m flexible. As is standard for co-op apartment buildings, renter(s) must complete an application which is submitted to the co-op board and then have a short virtual meeting with the board. The application requires letters of reference, as well as credit and background checks. The whole process will take 4-6 weeks, which is why I am looking at a 9/1 move in date. I would be happy to help with the paperwork, answer any questions about the virtual meeting, and cover the costs of the application.

I am looking for a responsible tenant who will be respectful of my neighbors and the space. Ideally you would make 40x the rent or have a guarantor who could co-sign the lease, but I am willing to work with people who do not meet these exact requirements to find the right fit.

Pets Policy

Cats and small dogs are allowed, pending co-op board approval. I would ask for an additional pet deposit to cover any potential damage. Happy to discuss details on a case-by-case basis.
