About this Service

THE ART OF GOODBYE is a creative, practical, 3-hour session designed to support single/independent/autonomous people in maintaining agency and autonomy through the end of life, by planning early. I frame end-of-life planning as a radical act of self-love — a courageous, empowering step towards ensuring that our values, voice, and dignity are honored. It’s also an act of care for those you love, lifting the burden of guesswork during an emotional time. This personal session offers the space to reflect and play, as well as the concrete tools to create a plan rooted in clarity and peace of mind. During our time together, we will:

Reflect on our values and what is important to us now and at the end of life.
Address, with intention, our emotional and practical needs during the latter stages of life.
Activate deep thinking through discussion, creative exercises, and use of decision-making tools.
Document our wishes, name advocates, and organize important information.
Design our plan with agency and creativity.
Provide a complete take-home workbook for New York State, California or Florida.

In-person and online session options are available.

About this Lister

I am a Social and Behavioral Communication Practitioner, who has worked globally with non-profits and UN agencies in the sectors of public health and social justice for over 25 years.

After the passing of several close friends and relatives around the time of Covid, I developed a deep respect for hospice, and felt compelled to become part of the death positive movement. I completed my End of Life Doula training with the International End of Life Doula Association Since then, I've been working with private clients and with hospice, to support individuals and families in normalizing and softening the end of life experience. I learned how potent this time can be for healing, growth and transformation and hope to share this norm changing view. Through creative accompaniment in navigating emotions, logistics, and the unknown, I aim to make this stage of life as full of possibilities and wonder, as the beginning.

I'm also an adjunct professor of communication and a documentary filmmaker.

Background and Expertise

As an INELDA (International End of Life Doula Association) trained provider since 2023, I bring my life-long work in social justice and cross cultural health, and as an artist, to transform the way we approach death and grieving. I've worked with people of all ages, and at all stages of life and health.

As someone who has a chosen family, I understand the specific needs of "autonomous" people. This particular session is informed not only my professional experience, but also by my personal experience.
