Charming 1 bedroom apartment in a small building (2 units only ) on the border of Clinton Hill & Bed Stuy. Tenants will have sole access to the garden. The basement and front patio are shared with the other unit (us!)
This cozy apartment has a very special living arrangement. Because there are only two units in the building - and no super on site - all tenants are responsible for trash/ recycling and keeping shared areas clean and tidy.
The apartment is accessed up a short flight of steps and through the common entryway/hallway. The living room, kitchen and bathroom are on the ground level; the bedroom, mudroom and garden are one flight of stairs down.
Electricity and gas included in the rent.
This dual-level apt. features hardwood floors and original beamed ceilings.
The kitchen, located directly off of the living room, has been renovated and the bathroom includes a full tub. The bedroom is equipped with a split system for heating and cooling. Washer/dryer offers added convenience. Garden is large, but definitely needs a lot of love.
12 minute walk to the G on Classon, Navy Yard Ferry, and multiple bus routes close by. Fort Greene Park is a 15 minute walk away. Street parking available.
Additional Features
• The apartment is wired for both Fios and Optimum.
• Only one day of alternate side parking
• USPS branch one block away
We are looking for people invested in making this feel like a home - and that are OK to help manage the upkeep and care of the building: vacuuming shared hallway; sweeping outdoor patio/ shoveling sidewalk, coordinating vendors for any repairs/ pest management. In the past, there's been lots of package receiving, pet sitting, cake sharing etc. We are fairly quiet and looking for neighbors who are thoughtful and value open and friendly communication.
We live in the other unit in the building.
Our last neighbor had to move out unexpectedly due to an emergency and we are helping our landlords (who live abroad) find new tenants.
We're fairly quiet, chill, and throw an occasional dinner party. We work in film/music and food. Because of the nature of the building, we're hoping for responsible neighbors who will respect the space and are interested in a homey, considerate and drama-free environment.
(Details here are to the best of our understanding; please make sure to confirm with the landlords when speaking with them.)
Interview with the landlord + personal references & financials. First month rent and security deposit (and renter's insurance) required. Available 12/1, and possibly sooner.
If you are interested in applying, please email and place "APARTMENT FOR RENT" in subject line. Briefly describe yourself/ anyone else applying with you.
We will follow up to place you in touch with the management (+ landlords, who live abroad) to coordinate viewing.
Pets are allowed on a case-by-case basis with a small deposit. We have a 9lb cat, and there have been two dogs (and a parakeet!) in the building in the past, under 25 lbs.
