1 room in BedStuy 2B/2B Brownstone Apartment

Rooms for Rent

$1,750/month

Location

Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn

Available

June 1, 2025 - May 31, 2026

My current roommate is moving out, and I’m looking for one person (no couples/no pets) to take over the available bedroom in my 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment in BedStuy.

This place is a dream in so many ways! It’s on the second floor of a three-unit brownstone – just one brief set of stairs outside, up to the front stoop/apartment door. It’s airy and full of sunlight with high ceilings, and both bedrooms are at the back of the building, looking out over the neighbors’ lovely backyards. They’re on the smaller side, but totally functional and cozy – both my roommate and I have queen beds, plus desks/chairs and shelving space, in addition to very large closets.

The shared space is furnished and art is up on a lot of the walls but am happy to move things around/make room for your art as well!

Major perks: there’s an in-unit washer/dryer, split A/C/heat units in each bedroom (plus one in the common space), and two separate bathrooms: one with a big tub/shower combo, and one with a nice glass-door shower. My prior roommate and I have interchangeably used both bathrooms, but I’m happy to discuss what feels most comfortable to you.

The location is great, too. It’s a quiet block with plenty of trees and a community garden at the end, but with Tompkins Ave (where all the action is) as one of the two cross streets. It’s a five-minute walk from Herbert Von King Park, plus a million coffee shops, bars, restaurants, etc, with multiple grocery stores nearby (including one a couple blocks away). Within a 15-minute walk to the A/C, G, and J trains, with various bus stops around the corner.

About This Lister

I’m Lauren (she/her). I’m in my early 30’s and work in tech – I’m in the office Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, but work from home on Wednesday and Friday. I’m into film, cooking vegetarian meals, painting, and have been learning to sew (there’s a great sewing school in the neighborhood). I like to keep a quiet, peaceful home and am looking for a good communicator who’s down to occasionally share meals, chat after work, host friends for dinner, etc, but also fine with solo time and is respectful of the space.

My girlfriend is in grad school in Philly and will sometimes be here for a long weekend (she may be around more this summer break), I also go there pretty regularly! We share a sweet little dog named Tomato who spends chunks in either place so he will be here and will definitely want to be your friend.
