Hey Listings Project! I'm looking for someone to join me in my apartment and take over for a housemate moving out May 1st.
The apartment is in the heart of Prospect Heights, right off Vanderbilt. It's a 3-bedroom, 1.5 bath on the 2nd floor and I'm the only other tenant— you'll have your own bedroom PLUS a shared second room we use as an office / guest room, and essentially your own sink and toilet.
The space is big, sunny, and well-loved. In-unit washer/dryer, dishwasher, fully furnished common areas, a record player in the living room, and a desk + monitor if you work from home. Out front there's a little patio, perfect for lunch in the sun or a summer wine and cheese night.
The neighborhood is as central as it gets: 10-minute walk to Prospect Park & Grand Army Plaza, N/Q, A/C, 2/3, 4/5 trains, Barclays and LIRR, all within 10 minutes. Great restaurants and the open streets program makes the whole area feel alive in the summer.
Rent is $2,100/month + ~$100-150/month utilities & internet.
The timeline: 3-month sublease through August, with the option to join me on a new 12-month lease starting September 1st if it's a good fit.
Who I'm looking for: Someone in their late 20s to mid-30s who's considerate, kind, and a little creative. I love cooking and hosting, you're welcome to join in or do your own thing. I work from home most days, so ideally you're in the office sometimes, though the space works well for two people WFH. No pets, no smoking inside, and just just be considerate and keep things clean or communicate when things aren't.
If this sounds like your kind of place, send a note about yourself — and feel free to reach out for more photos, videos, or questions!
I am a 30 year old originally from the SF bay area. I love being outside, running, ceramics, and music. I've lived in NYC for 7 years and living in this apartment for most of that. I'm a cis straight male, but have always shared this apartment with women and queer housemates. Most important is loving the shared space and continuing to make it feel like home.
Renter will be asked to speak with me to ensure it's a good fit, and possible come visit the space in person. After that there will be a small signed agreement.
You will take over the security deposit of the tenant who is moving out, which is 1 months rent.
