We’re looking for a new roommate starting March 1, 2026 to join our lovely 4-bedroom, 3-bath apartment in Bed-Stuy.
The Rooms
Two rooms are available and will be rented together:
• Queen-sized bedroom (9'10" x 14'6")
• Full-sized bedroom (7'10" x 14'6"), typically used as a guest room or office
Both rooms face the backyard and trees rather than the street, so they’re quiet, peaceful, and filled with natural light.
The full-sized room includes a walk-in closet. The queen room comfortably fits a queen bed and dresser and includes built-in storage. The rooms are located on the top floor of a charming duplex townhouse.
Rent for both rooms is $1,225/month total + approximately $75–100 for utilities and internet, depending on heat and AC usage.
The Apartment
We occupy the back wing of a duplex townhouse, with one roommate across the hall from the vacant rooms and one below, so the layout feels very private. Bedrooms and bathrooms are thoughtfully spread out on opposite sides of the apartment, giving everyone space. A full house is 3 roommates total, including you.
Amenities include:
• In-unit washer and dryer
• Dishwasher
• Shared backyard
The shared living room and kitchen are furnished but open to collaboration if you’d like to bring art, plants, or furniture to make it feel more like home.
It’s not new construction, but it was renovated years ago and is clean, well-maintained, and full of character. There’s a backyard and plenty of greenery, which makes it feel like a calm retreat from the city.
Unfortunately, no pets!
The Location
Equidistant to the J train at Gates Ave and the A/C trains at Utica Ave.
The neighborhood is primarily residential, with many long-standing homeowners and multigenerational families who have been here for decades. It has a strong sense of community and feels grounded and neighborly.
Lease Details
We have been granted a lease extension through June 2026. The property managers have shared that the building may be sold after that time.
While a formal lease agreement is required, there are currently four guaranteed months remaining. This could function well for someone seeking short- to mid-term housing, with the possibility of longer-term stability depending on how the sale unfolds. A leasing agreement and security deposit are still required.

We’re two Black, queer, AFAB, working professionals in the non-profit & film space as well as the food industry, early and mid-30s, with steady income and structured schedules. We value a calm, communicative, respectful home environment. Friendly and community-minded, but we also respect personal space.
This isn’t a party apartment, but we’re not hermits either. Occasional dinners, movie nights, or friends over are welcome. We want the apartment to feel like a sanctuary from the chaos of life.
First month’s rent + one month security deposit required.
You would sign a leasing agreement with our landlord/property manager.
