Looking for an extended creative getaway or time to commune with Nature during peak Catskill Fall foliage?

This cozy retreat nestled into the forest has the best of both worlds — a feeling of being tucked away in your own little pocket of nature, without being isolated. It's just a 5-min walk to the heart of Woodstock, or a 5-min drive to scenic hikes at Overlook Mountain, Sloan Gorge, and more.

This two-bedroom house with separate artist studio/cabin has a long history of creative inhabitants. It’s a true sanctuary for creativity and healing, infused with beautiful energy. I’m looking to rent the house — which is fully furnished — to the right someone(s) while I travel for two months from Oct 1 - Nov 30, 2024.

It’s the perfect spot for a solo person who’s craving a luxurious retreat with separate work or meditation space, a couple who works from home and wants separate work spaces, or friends seeking a nature escape with lots of room for creative endeavors.

Here’s the skinny on the house, the studio, and the land:

The House:

Living Room: A large airy, all-white wood space with a gorgeous (and powerful!) woodstove at its heart, a built-in pocket desk with a window view, as well as a large dining table with wrap-around banquet that’s great for lounging or hosting gatherings.

Ritual Room: Another spacious, airy room that's great for yoga, meditation, or work. It has a massive north facing window which looks out to the pines, and a cozy window bench seat above a “hidden” washer/dryer unit. (I also have a large work desk in storage that could easily be added to this room to make it into a light-filled office space.) A full bathroom adjoins this room.

Two Bedrooms: Off of the ritual room are the house’s two bedrooms. On the ground floor, a cozy room with a large, built-in desk, a full size bed, and an *infrared cedar sauna* that accommodates two people. Simply press a button to turn the sauna on, let it warm up for 30-40 minutes and then relax in bliss. Having access to this sauna on chilly nights is absolutely amazing!

Above the lower bedroom is a larger master bedroom with a queen-size bed, a beautiful view of the treetops, a private balcony deck, and a half bathroom.

Kitchen: A sliding barn door opens onto an adorable kitchen with all the things you’ll need: full-size fridge, gas stove, dishwasher, double sink, microwave, blender, and instapot. Adjoining is a beautiful full bath with white subway tile and slate floors.

Screen Porch: Off the kitchen, you'll find a spacious screen porch with a dining table, cute string lights, and a place to stash 1/4 cord of wood for winter fires.

The Studio Cabin:

About a hundred feet from the house is an adorable 200 square foot cabin that was recently renovated. It features an open area for meditation, yoga, or whatever else you want to do, as well as an enormous desk and comfy armchair — all with windows opening onto beautiful views of the open forest. It’s the perfect spot to work, write, record, or just reflect. The cabin has heat and electricity but no running water. Plus, wifi via an extender from the main house.

The Land

The house and cabin are nestled on a half acre situated at the very end of a small lane close to town. There are many trees on the property, which is especially gorgeous when the leaves start to turn for Fall, and a small stream runs behind the house. There are neighbors nearby, but the house feels very “tucked away” and private.
