Nestled near Mount Shaupeneak in the hamlet of Ulster Park, this beautiful property situated on 2.7 wooded acres nestled alongside a creek is the perfect Hudson Valley retreat. Just 10 minutes to restaurants and shopping in Kingston (or 20 minutes to New Paltz), this open and airy 2,600 square foot home can accommodate up to 8 guests in 4 bedrooms. Enjoy gorgeous views from oversized picture windows on the main level. A huge back deck and gas grill offer outdoor dining. You might see any number of feathered friends visit bird feeders throughout the property, plus hawks, turkeys, and more.
The first floor has a kitchen and dining nook for 4, a dining room table that seats 8, an oversized living room with a wood-burning fireplace (please inquire if you'd like to use it!), a sunroom/office area with desk, and a laundry room and half bathroom.
Upstairs offers a large primary bedroom with king bed and en suite bath, dressing area, and French doors. Bedroom two has a queen bed, bedroom three has twin bunkbeds, and bedroom four has a full bed and an additional desk/workspace. All four bedrooms are spacious; there also is a second full bathroom with tub on this floor. Enjoy high speed wi-fi access throughout the house (great remote work set-up) with central air and heating; all bedrooms have individual mini-splits.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, coffeepot, water kettle, Instant Pot, slow cooker, and plenty of cooking basics. We also have puzzles and games, kites, binoculars for birdwatching, sleds, and more - great for families. (However, please note that it is not baby/small-child-proofed for kids under 3.)
You'll love the incredible views regardless of the season. The property abuts a lovely winding creek and has great hiking trails a few minutes away by car. We are located just 90 miles from NYC; the house is under an hour to Hunter Mountain Resort. It’s a very special property with a lot of good energy - our family loves being there. (We bought it fairly recently so we are still adding rugs and wall-hangings!)
We are a family of three (nonprofit director, nonprofit consultant, and a 6-year-old) - we hope to relocate full-time down the road but for now we split our time between Brooklyn and upstate. We are very tidy, and our home reflects that! Would love to share our space with responsible people who will be respectful of a shared space and enjoy the amazing home, surrounding nature, and local community. We are long-time Listings Project community members.
Note that our two short-haired cats occasional join us at the house - we are disciplined about vacuuming but if you are very allergic this might not be an ideal location!
We require a 50% deposit to secure the reservation plus a rental agreement and a small security deposit. Three night minimum. The property has availability in November, December, and beyond - please contact us for more info. Additional $50 per night if more than 4 adults will be staying.
