Hello! We're searching for a new roommate to join our 3-BR home starting September 1st through Feb. 2026.
THE APARTMENT
It's a three bedroom brownstone-style brick duplex, and we have the second and third floors of the building. There's a large living room on the 2nd floor and lots of storage space throughout the house. The kitchen is on the 3rd floor and on small side but well-equipped. We have space to store a bike indoors and (unfinished) roof access.
THE ROOM
Around 12x15 ft on the third floor, unfurnished, with two windows facing south overlooking the street. It has a large closet and shares a spacious bathroom with one (female) roommate. The room is $1140/month, with a one-month security deposit. Utilities and internet are usually about $100 a month.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Crown Heights near Prospect Place and Franklin Ave, a 5-minute walk from the Franklin 2/3 and 4/5 stop, and half a block from the Shuttle Train (connecting to the B,Q and C trains), and an 8-minute walk to the Franklin C.
ABOUT YOU
Laid back, respectful, communicative, conscientious of others, clean (you do your own dishes, pitch in to keep common spaces clean as needed, take out trash, etc. etc.) You’re in your thirties, or thereabouts. Proof of income, pays rent on time. No smoking. No couples, though, please.
Think you'd be a good fit? Send us an email and please do tell us a bit about yourself, your living needs/preferences, and what you’re ideally looking for in a shared living/roommate situation!
We're two roommates, a man (me, early 40s) and a woman (in her 30s). I've lived in the building since 2007 (not a typo!), and I work from home as a freelance audio producer. My roommate joined the apartment over a year ago and she works outside the house more often than not. Our outgoing roommate and his lovely dog were here for about 5 years, but he's moving in with his partner at the end of August.
As roommates, we tend to keep to ourselves for the most part. I sometimes split my time between the apartment and my partner's place (also in the neighborhood). I practice yoga and sometimes music in my room (guitar/keyboards), though not with excessive volume. My roommate is a graduate student in art history, a runner, and an archival cataloger who likes cooking and practicing her Italian. Most importantly, we're looking to maintain a friendly, clean, calm, respectful community both within the house and with our neighbors. 420 friendly (though it’s not a frequent thing for us).
