This is a unicorn of an apt. I am subletting my 1 bedroom on one of the most beautiful tree lined blocks in Chelsea , West 22nd Street. 3rd floor Walk up-- 2 flights up.
10' beamed ceilings, Exposed brick, South facing, blasted with sunlight. 2 Huge Closets that go up 9+ feet in bedroom and main area. Quiet. I have lived here for 15 years.
10 unit building with 8 apts in use by some very great neighbors.
Walking distance to the waterfront, Chelsea market, Galleries, Chelsea Piers, Whole Foods, Fairway. It is the perfect location. Building is an old brownstone-- sadly, no gorgeous stoop like all the neighbors. It's a quirky old NYC building. If you like to listen to your music on full blast, stomp around in boots/ heels, love to crank up that TV volume at all hours or scream in the hallway with your friends at 2AM on your way in /or out, this is NOT the building for you.
This is a quiet building where people say hello to their neighbors. Laundry in basement. TINY but functional kitchen, renovated clean bathroom.
The terms of the sublet are that it will be 7 month with an extension for another year if it's a good fit and then potentially taking over the lease when I better know my plans -- which is the unicorn part! I am organizing it this way b/c this building only does annual leases for the entire 15+ years I have lived here.
So I am starting with the duration of ythis lease and then will sign another year as always.
I am looking for a person like me: one person, kind, respectful of neighbors, has a job/ good financials, good credit, good references, creative, will take care of the place but also enjoy it!
What will stay: All curtains, Muji Queen storage Bedframe ( like new ) bedside tables, Lamp, Full Elfa Shelving in both closets, Carpet similar to pictured and some small furniture items- kitchen and bathroom, New fancy trash can, likely the custom bookshelf pictured)

I am an art director and production designer and have lived in this apt for 15 years. I travel quite a bit but have always kept this beautiful apt, and am looking to sublet while I figure out some exciting new things. I care very much about my neighbors, I am active in the community and I am trying to find someone that would be a good fit and enjoy this lovely space and neighborhood as much as I have. Went to Bard College, originally from Boston, am a twin.
