The Role
We are seeking Full-Time (≈38–40 hrs/week) and Part-Time (≈30 hrs/week) Back of House (BOH) team members who enjoy physical, active work and love keeping things spotless.
This position combines light kitchen prep (making smoothies, nut milks, and beverage bases) with daily dishwashing, café cleaning, and closing duties. You’ll help ensure our kitchen, bar, and guest areas stay clean, safe, and ready for the next day of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain all café and kitchen areas throughout and after service — including floors, counters, tables, bathrooms, trash bins, and storage rooms.
- Perform end-of-day cleaning and closing duties: sweeping, mopping, sanitizing surfaces and restocking supplies.
- Wash and sanitize all dishes, utensils, and equipment according to health and safety standards.
- Prepare smoothies, house-made nut milks, and other beverage components following Buddy Buddy’s recipes.
- Receive and organize deliveries, rotate inventory, and help maintain a tidy basement storage area.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines (NYC DOH compliance).
- Support the café team as needed during service and work collaboratively with baristas, hosts and managers.
About You
- Previous experience in cleaning, dishwashing, or kitchen prep preferred but not required.
- You enjoy physical, hands-on work and take pride in keeping spaces clean and organized.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to follow cleaning and sanitation procedures carefully.
- Comfortable standing for long hours and lifting up to 40 lbs.
- A team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
Must be 18+ and legally authorized to work in the United States.
