I'm looking for someone to sublet my 950 sq ft apartment in the East Hollywood/K-town area. I will be at an artist residency in Miami and need someone to also care for my two sweet cats and my house plants. Therefore, the rent is priced at half the cost of rent, parking, and utilities.

The apartment is in a beautiful 100+ year old building in the Melrose/Heliotrope area of East Hollywood. It's a second floor walk-up apartment with incredible light and large windows all throughout the space. Hardwood floors and many original vintage details. There are 3 other units with great neighbors-- we all look out for each other. I have neighbors who can take over cat-care if you are out of town for one of the weekends, etc.

There is a private laundry room, a lush beautiful front yard encased in hedges, and a shared patio area out back. Dishwasher in the kitchen. The living room functions as my studio space, so there are two large looms. If you happen to be a weaver you are welcome to use them. There is a large table that you can use for meals and/or to work. There is an AC unit in the living room/studio area, but the amount of windows alone quickly cools down the space if you open them in the late afternoon. Ceiling fan in the large bedroom which also has a loveseat and a projector.

The apartment is very centrally located-- a few minutes drive to Virgil Village and Silverlake. A 20 minute walk to all the fun stuff in K-town. A 10-15 minute drive to Downtown, Echo Park, Hollywood, and Los Feliz. The Vermont 101 entrance is a few minutes away and there is a private parking spot on-site that you can use. The Beverly/Vermont Red line station is also a 5 minute walk away which easily takes you to Hollywood, Central K-town, Downtown, Los Feliz, and North Hollywood.

I'm hoping to find someone who is a cat lover and good with plants. The cats are pretty low maintenance, but social and need love. Athena the grey one is super cuddly, and Penny the tabby has a hilarious personality. It may take a day or two for them to warm up to you but they are very sweet. They like being let outside at some point during the day, which I usually do around 10 am when I am working, but that's flexible. They are really good and stay on the property and come back on their own or when you call them.

About This Lister

I am a full-time artist/weaver who lives and works in this space. I rent it from my landlord who lives in the neighborhood. The building next door is also owned by him. All of the tenants have a group text where we can communicate and look out for each other. I can add you to that group text if you'd like or just give you the contacts of my closest neighbors.

I like the keep the space pretty clean. I'll have it fresh and sparkly for you and can clear out space in the closet and drawers.
