Hello!
I have a studio share available on Morgan Ave in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, ideal for an out-of-town artist/painter (local New York artists could also be a good fit). Most of the current studio mates live outside NYC and come in a few times a year to work and crash for a few days at a time.
The 4th-floor studio is just over 23’ x 11’, with 9.5’ ceilings (measured from the floor to the bottom of the lights). The studio has a pull-out couch that sleeps two, great lighting, two large windows, a slop sink, a bathroom, internet, some storage, A/C, and is smoke-free — all the essentials. The building is clean and quiet, and has a service elevator.
Spaces in this area at this rate are rare, and we’d love to keep the setup going — it could be a great option for an out-of-town artist who occasionally needs a place to work and stay in Brooklyn.
I am an artist who has lived and worked in this studio building for nearly 25 years.
For an out-of-town artist who visits periodically (most of the others come 3–5 times per year for 3–5 days at a stretch), the yearly rent is $2,200. The only requirement is a heads-up to the others about visit dates so we can clear the space and walls as much as possible in advance.
For a local New York artist, we are offering the studio two or three days a week. Monthly rent depends on how many — and which — days are needed.
