I am offering an unfurnished room in a lovely 2nd-floor, 2B unit in Cypress Park. You walk up an outdoor staircase to access it. The apartment has a sunny living room, a large tiled bathroom (shared), a nice kitchen and a washer/dryer. The room comes with a closet, AC unit and ceiling fan. Lots of windows in the apartment, and overall the place has a fresh, inviting energy. I'm still in the process of furnishing, so if it looks a little bare, that will change!
The neighborhood is wonderful. Lots of quiet, tree lined streets, easy access to hiking trails in Mt Washington, and a public meditation garden. Around the corner are multiple coffeeshops, a small market, and 2 large grocery stores. Several major bus lines (90, 94, 251) stop right on the corner, and connect to Downtown, Chinatown, Eagle Rock, Glendale, etc., so ideal for anyone without a car. If you do have your own car, street parking is ample.
I am: queer, male, 39, grad student and I occasionally travel for work. You be queer/-friendly, laid-back, somewhat social. (I have friends over sometimes, and you're welcome to do the same.) Plant & music lovers a plus ++
This is a short-term arrangement (6-8 months), with the possibility of extending, depending on multiple factors. If you're in LA for a contract job, exploring neighborhoods to live, or if you're a student, then this would be a good fit!
I work as a writer, teacher and sound therapist. I value my private space highly, but enjoy the company of others who have a good sense of humor and are respectful. I meditate. I go to the movies. I like nature outings. My favorite book is The Unconsoled by Kazuo Ishiguro. My favorite singer is Elizabeth Fraser. I'm a virgo. He him.
If you're active, outdoorsy, cook good food or bake, like watching old movies, are relatively clean, watch drag race, and/or dream journal, we'll probably get along.
Open to any age. No pets.
$1200/month, plus utilities. A $500 deposit is required, to be returned after move-out. Proof of income a must.
Move in as soon as March 1 but no later than March 15.
