Welcome! I am subletting my bedroom in the vibrant Morningside Heights, a one minute walk to the M104 and M4 buses, a 5 minute walk to the 125th 1 train stop, and a 14 minute walk to the B/D, and A/C trains. Nearby within 1-2 minutes walking distance you will find Kuro Kuma coffee shop, Frozen Love ice cream parlor, The Expat bar, and Pisticci Italian restaurant. In addition to countless other restaurants within less than 5 minutes walking on Broadway. The apartment is on Claremont within one minute walking to Riverside and Sakura parks.

The room is a large repurposed living room in a beautiful prewar building with an elevator. The building is managed by a super who is available during weekdays for maintenance questions. There are washers and dryers in the basement which can be operated with quarters. I will leave a roll of quarters for ease of use. The apartment has hardwood floors, plants, tons of light, AC (in the living room not the bedroom), a dishwasher, one bathroom, living room, dining room, and three bedrooms. You will have access to wifi and a smart TV which will be logged in to Netflix, HBO, Prime Video, Hulu, and Peacock. You will also have access to any kitchen supplies you need, although you will have to provide your own food. But of course, feel free to use the basics, olive oil and salt, etc. The kitchen, living room, and dining room are shared spaces and free to use.

The bedroom has black out curtains (which work almost all the way), hand woven carpet, two giant bookshelves with over 700 books for your perusal. There is a beautiful antique desk and a handmade bedside table with a large antique lamp. There are three light sources in the room, an over head, a large floor lamp, and a table lamp. The room has a king sized bed with Egyptian cotton sheets which you are free to use. The room has two large windows which extend floor to ceiling and one of which opens up to a fire escape.

I live with two other quiet roommates who spend most of their time away at work and in graduate school. The apartment is clean and peaceful.

As a subletter you will have access to guest towels, sheets, comforter, steamer, iron, and drying rack. In addition to use of the dining room, kitchen, living room, dishwasher, and downstairs washer-dryer.

I am looking for someone to stay two weeks while I am away in Japan. The subletter will have access to both my roommates if any problems or questions should arise. There is no smoking or drug use in the apartment. We have no pets.

About This Lister

I am a painter, writer, and adjunct professor at Columbia who has been living in New York for three years. I use she/her pronouns. I am subleasing the room while I am on vacation. This apartment is sanctuary for me. In a building with a strong and supportive community. I want whoever subleases to take good care of it.

I have two roommates: one male and one female. Both of them are very private, quiet, and friendly. They are clean and mostly keep busy with their graduate programs and work. You will have predominant use of the shared spaces.

I am looking for someone who can respect the space.
