The home is a 5 bedroom 3.5 bath on Mt. Washington near Cypress Park. It is named Casa Flores after the diminutive 102 year old socialite that lived here before us. This home has some of the best views in LA with a large patio off the living space facing the San Gabriel mountains and second patio on the opposite side of the house facing downtown Los Angeles. We are situated on a quiet dead-end street with a trail to the top of Mt. Washington.

Despite being quiet and nestled in the mountain, the house is walking distance (15 minute walk) to the Heritage Square A line stop. We are about 10 mins from Highland Park and 15 mins from DTLA via driving and train. Street parking is not abundant but always available.

One room is available June through September for sublet. The room will be furnished with a simple bed and desk. The room is on the top floor up about 15 steps. The room has a large closet attached and a big north-facing window with a view of a beautiful Eucalyptus tree, Mt Washington, and the San Gabriel Mountains. The room has an adjacent bathroom that is private but the shower is shared with one other roommate. This room is $1,180 plus $100 utilities per month. The upstairs is shared with one other person. That person has her own bathroom and there is a room in between the two rooms that we share as a guest room and flexible work space. You may also use it as a workspace/craft space etc. We have a dishwasher and laundry onsite.

About This Lister

We are four friends in our 30's and one sweet 4-year old dog. One roommate lives on the ground floor off of the living space. The other two roommates, a couple, live in the basement room with its own entrance. One of us is an educator, one is a therapist, one is a soil scientist, and another works in a design & technology coop. Most of us work outside of the house. We are relatively quiet. We like having guests over for meals and we like to host friends from other cities in our spare room. You are welcome to do the same. The house is generally quiet between the hours of 11PM and 7AM. That schedule shifts later on Friday and Saturday nights. In general, we are sweet and communicative people whose core principles of collective liberation and prison abolition inform how we care for one another. We are looking for the same in our other housemates.
