Fort Greene studio sublet (furnished) — April 1 to Jun 13/15* (flexible)
Rent: $2,800/mo + utilities
Pet-friendly (quiet dogs welcome)
I’m subletting my cozy, fully furnished studio in the heart of Fort Greene while I’m away for family stuff. It’s on the ground floor of a small, friendly building in brownstone Brooklyn where neighbors are warm but keep to themselves.
The space is designed with a custom Murphy bed and Murphy desk, allowing the main room to shift easily between a living area, home office, dining space, or bedroom. The kitchen is well equipped for real cooking: stove + oven, dishwasher, microwave, electric kettle, blender, plus all cookware and utensils.
A big plus: the apartment has exclusive access to the building’s large backyard, furnished with couches, a firepit, picnic table, grill, and storage sheds. It’s a great spot for evening fires, outdoor meals, or hanging out with a dog.
The location is ideal—just one block from Fort Greene Park and close to the neighborhood’s main streets. Multiple subway lines are within a 2–8 minute walk, with easy access to Manhattan and the rest of Brooklyn.
I’m a 44-year-old professional working at NYU. I’ve lived in NYC for 8 years after a decade abroad, and I’ll be spending this time helping my elderly stepmother relocate. I’m hoping to find someone responsible and respectful who will enjoy and take care of this home while I’m away.
I'm looking for a subletter to take this starting early April to mid June. The dates are a bit negotiable and flexible, but the preference is for someone to take it the whole period. Deposit of $500 and a basic sublease agreement will be required.
*There is a subletter in the unit right now who has been there since January. He's happy to show the place to interested applicants and can also serve as a reference if helpful.
Quiet dogs are welcome. The unit sits at the back of a hallway rarely used by other tenants, which works well for most pups; dogs that are reactive to foot traffic at building front doors might not be comfortable here.
