Hello! I have a great space available that would be great for a couple or single person who also wants an office or studio space.

The building is a 3 unit apartment building on a quieter street in Flatbush (Church and Bedford, in between the 2, 5 train and the Q) and my unit is the ground floor, basement, and backyard. There are no stairs to climb up to the apartment door. I have a flower and vegetable garden out back and there’s furniture, a grill, firepit, and umbrella so it’s a great spot for having outdoor hangouts and BBQs. The landlord is really great and he and his family lived in this apartment for years before building another building next door where he lives now. I wasn’t initially super excited about living next door to my landlord but he’s super chill and is always down to help out if there’s an issue with the unit.

The space for rent is the two rooms on the ground floor. They are both about the same size and both fit queen beds and have closets. One of the rooms has a door to the backyard, but there is also a way to get outside from the basement. This space would work great for a single person or couple who want a bedroom and a work/office space. Both rooms have big windows that look out to the backyard. The bedrooms will be unfurnished with the exception of a queen sized bed (I can get rid of this if you’d prefer but it’s available).

The kitchen has a new 6 burner gas range and a dishwasher and there is laundry in the unit, which is amazing. There are pine hardwood floors throughout the unit. Utilities vary by season but are usually about $150 or so. The common space is furnished and there’s a small living room off the open kitchen that has windows out to the front. I have some plants around that sometimes move with the seasons and light in the apartment. The windows in the bedrooms are south facing and get tons of light.

There’s a full bathroom on the main floor with a bathtub/shower that’s shared.

I live in the basement and have a small half bathroom down there so the only the shower is shared.

This neighborhood is super underrated imo! I’ve been within a few blocks of here since 2018 and this is my third apartment in this neighborhood. It’s so great to be near Prospect Park and all of the restaurants and shops along Flatbush avenue. There are also a ton of super cute bars/restaurants/shops just southwest of here that I like to explore. It’s so green and just beautiful around the Cortelyou Road Q stop.

I’m happy to answer any questions and show the apartment whenever I’m available. Looking forward to meeting you!

About This Lister

I’m in my mid-thirties (he/him) and I work at a Cancer Center in Brooklyn in charge of the genetic testing for our patients. I’m originally from the west coast of Canada and I’ve been in New York almost 10 years and this neighborhood for the past 7. I work Monday-Friday 9-5 so am up relatively early during the week and often don’t come home until after work and yoga around 8:30pm. I’m definitely down for having folks and friends around the apartment and love planning little outdoor parties when the weather’s good and inside when it’s not. I’m fairly extroverted and friendly but I’m usually doing my own thing for most of the weekdays. On weekends I love to spend time outside when the weather is nice. I’m into walking, cycling, and photography so I am often out exploring random parts of the city on foot or bike. I love to garden and have a big garden this year, although some of my plants aren’t doing as well as I hoped! If you know a thing or two about gardening that would be super :) I also really love going to live music, listening to records, playing music a bit, and going out dancing. As I mentioned above I also do a lot of yoga (4-5 days a week) so if I’m not at work and it’s a weekday there’s a good chance I’m at the studio.

Landlord requests a credit check for all tenants.

I am thinking about getting a cat, and pets are negotiable. Would prefer not to live with a dog but could be open to it!
