Bright Apartment Heart of Brooklyn

Apartments for Sublet

$2,650/month

Available

September 1, 2025 - September 1, 2026

Neighborhood

Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn

Size

500 sq. ft.

Welcome to this comfy 19th century red brick building, where you'll have a private entrance to a 3rd floor suite full of beautiful details -- for example: high ceilings, exposed beams, skylights (one in the small bedroom and another in the bathroom), custom furniture, plants and artwork, granite kitchen countertop, tiled bathroom, and high-speed internet. There is basic television service in the apartment (channels 2-22). The express and local trains (J,M,Z,G) are a 12-minute walk from the house, and there is a bus 1 block from the house. There are plenty of good places to eat within the neighborhood such as Saraghina Restaurant, as well as gems that deliver (seamless and grubhub are great food resources). The neighborhood is diverse, we - the owners - are super cool (!) and you'll truly feel like you're at home. The apartment has plenty of room for two people but is AMAZING FOR ONE! There are two bedrooms: one is large with a queen-sized bed; the other is small with a full. Most people like to utilize the small room as an office or hobby space.

Because the apartment is on the top floor of the building, trust and vibe are important for both our tenants and ourselves. For example, there have been times when a key was lost and access to the entire building was needed in order to reach the apartment; without hesitation we provided that. Or if we needed access to the roof in rare cases for maintenance cleaning, we were able to make arrangements for that.

FEATURES:

UTILITIES
Wifi, gas, heat, water included. Electric is separate. Electric will range from $25.00 to $200 depending on season the comfort preferences.

FULLY FURNISHED
The furniture that's included in the rental is shown in the photos.

ON-SIGHT WASHER AND DRYER
The washer and dryer is located inside of our recently renovated cellar and can be accessed from a large stairway located outside on the ground floor level. No worries, it's not your typical small crammed cellar stairway; we actually designed it for comfort and ease of use. The washer and dryer can be shared between us and the tenant. The cellar is also used for a silk screening studio. We coordinate access according to schedules of both parties.

KITCHEN /WINDOW GARDEN SPACE
If you have a green thumb, there's a small gated box outside the kitchen window that gets great light and can house your herbs, flowers and plants.

The kitchen has been updated with wall cabinets. Note: This is not reflected in the photos.

PRIVATE ENTRANCE
You will walk up your NY stoop (which we hardly ever use) that leads to a 10' tall black glass double door, which then splits into two separate units. Your door opens to a private stair case that leads up to the apartment located on the top floor.

SKYLIGHTS
The apartment has two large skylights, one in the bathroom and the other in the small room/office space.

PARK YOUR BIKE
In case you have a bike, there is plenty of room in the cellar to park it, no problem.

About This Lister

We are Super Hosts on Airbnb and are now looking to turn our short term to a longer term rental - anywhere between 9 to 12 months.

I'm a restorative justice consultant/educator, writer, and lover of the arts. I co-founded and run my own consultancy. And, I have a newly discovered love for rollerskating. Chacon, my husband, is a creative in every sense of the word - from UX design and visual identity to painting and construction. We are both entrepreneurs, which keeps us busy, but affords us the flexibility needed to be very hands-on with our two amazing sons, ages 7 and 16.

We live in the bottom duplex of our two-family building. Chacon and I are the direct contacts and welcome any potential tenants to connect with us.

We're looking for 1 or 2 reasonably quiet and responsible people to occupy the apartment. Because we live below the unit, finding the right tenants is important. We'd rather be upfront about this so that once you're in, it'll be smooth sailing and good living for all of us.

Rental requirements

We are looking to rent our 1.5 bedroom apartment on a short term basis (1 year or less), with the ability to extend the time of stay if both parties agree.

We will require a short term lease agreement i.e., 6 to 12 months. We can discuss this further as we have a better understanding of your needs.

We will ask for a recent credit report/score as well references.

We will require a security deposit and one months rent at the start of the rental period.
