My partner and I are subletting our beautiful and bright apartment in a new building in central Williamsburg from 1 August 2025 through 31 March 2026 (8 months).

The Space
The one-bedroom and one-bath apartment includes an open plan living-dining-kitchen space and a sizeable balcony. It comes furnished: dining table, new couch, TV, shelving, full bed, with two central cooling/heating units. The bathroom has a deep tub great for a soak. The building includes an elevator and a shared rooftop with views of the Manhattan skyline. Windows are double-insulated.

Photos are of our current layout, but we will be removing all the kid-related furniture (dressers, floor-bed), our desk, and replacing the couch. Closet will be emptied for you and our stuff removed from shelves and cupboards. We will also remove most though not all of our plants (maybe like 5 left behind).

Location
The apartment is at the center of Williamsburg. There is an incredible amount and diversity of restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, venues, and nightlife in any direction from the apartment. Our block has a local slice shop (claims lineage with L'Industrie), two Mexican restaurants, bodega cats, a take-out spot serving slushies, a Japanese grocery run by Chinese dudes, an Irish pub with live music, a Canadian(?!) dive bar, a vintage furniture store, a tattoo parlor, a pharmacy, and a great laundromat across the street (to name a few of my favorite things). Three parks are within a 20-minute walk. The L, G and J/M/Z trains are within a 5-minute walk. The Lower East Side and Manhattan are a quick two stops away. CitiBike stations are plentiful.

About This Lister

We are an urban planner and an academic with a small child for a roommate, and a few plants. We will be away for a visiting position. Hope you can enjoy all our neighborhood has to offer while we are gone.

Rental requirements

$3850 deposit (to secure the rental) and $3850 by July 31 (to move in). Utilities are included (however, if the gas/electricity bills surpass $300/month we will ask you to pay the excess). We will return the security deposit to you after the sublet ends and when the apartment is returned in the same condition. We ask that the sub-letter keeps up with watering our plants and maintaining the space.

Absolutely no smoking inside the apartment especially because we have a small child.
