I am the leaseholder & open to both a summer sublet arrangement and a longterm sublet (which would extend when my lease renews Oct 1). Ideally would love to find someone who is a good fit and wants to stay through the next year as well: July 1, 2025 - October 1, 2026. Open to a few different arrangements for the right person.
I’ve lived in (and loved) this apartment for 5+ years. It’s a great space that affords a lot more privacy than many shared apartments I’ve seen / lived in. The apartment makes up the whole second floor of a well-kept brownstone on Bergen between Kingston and Brooklyn avenues in Crown Heights. Right by the Brooklyn Children’s Museum and Brower Park. Practically like having a park in the backyard. Short walk from both the Kingston-Throop and Nostrand A / C and also close to the 2 / 3 trains on Eastern Parkway. B43 (takes you straight into Williamsburg/Greenpoint) and B65 (straight into Downtown BK) right down the block. About a 20 minute walk from both Prospect Park & Herbert Von King Park, >10 from Franklin Ave. Right at the intersection of a bunch of great neighborhoods. Two delis and two laundromats just down the block and a couple different grocery stores two blocks over on Nostrand. Tons of great restaurants, bars etc close by.
The room itself is south facing and gets a ton of great light all day, faces the back yard/garden, and is on the opposite end of the apartment to mine. It can fit a queen bed, small desk, and a dresser. Also has a decent sized closet. Good amount of space to play with.
Utilities usually come to around $50-$100, depending on the season (AC in the summer racks it up). We pay for gas, electric, and internet.
The first bunch of photos are current. They were taken on a rainy morning so I've added a couple oldies to show the incredible light the living space (and your room) gets. I have also added some old images of the room for rent when it was not empty to show how other housemates have arranged/taken advantage of the space.
The space is sparse-ish right now and I'm trying to curate some new pieces/art/objects to fill it back up and do a little re-nesting. May cycle a few things out and would be open to a new housemate bringing in pieces of their own so we can make it feel like home for both of us. The couch needs some love or a replacement soon and I'd like to add more art to the living space.
Since I am not a very *online* person myself I don't require that you share your socials but feel free to send them along if you'd like.
Email me a bit about yourself, what you're looking for, and when you'd be ready to move in! :)

I manage a salon in downtown Brooklyn and have a side hustle selling vintage clothing. Occasionally work from home. Looking for someone who *does not* work from home full-time.
I spend a decent amount of time out of the house, especially in the warmer months, but when I am home I am reading, writing, listening to music, watching movies, cooking, drinking too much coffee. I generally am not one to bring the party home but I do have friends over for wine / dinner sometimes. Not super rigid about cleaning schedules but it is important to me that common spaces (bathroom / kitchen / living room) are kept up and respected by both housemates.
I do love to have a relationship with my housemate but don't have expectations aside from mutual respect for space / privacy / communication. We'll find our rhythm.
