Room for rent in a 3-bedroom apartment within walking distance from Columbia University's main campus. The room is 12' by 10' with lots of natural light, bare brick, hardwood floors (carpet optional), high ceilings, a built-in spacious closet, and a French door entrance to the room.
Small, quiet building; apartment includes an eat-in kitchen, a large living room, and a shared bathroom in a 4th walk-up. Utilities included, but I am personally energy conscious and expect that from tenants.
I often work from home. I am friendly and agreeable, but extremely considerate of others' space and attention. I am not extreme in terms of apartment decor; in fact, I am currently decluttering and reorganizing. However, I expect we each pick up and clean after ourselves so as not to impose on the other!

Disciplined MALE, college student preferred; some flexibility, however.
No pets, no smoking!
Grocery store/ supermarket (our commercial tenant) just downstairs; restaurants, many places to shop abound in the neighborhood; 3 parks, many mass transit options within walking distance.

I'm a self-employed active senior who often works from home. The apartment has been my family's home for forty years. We were original members of a sweat equity cooperative project that lead to ownership. I'm committed to my community and am active in various non-profit ventures.
Although the time line states a 3 month period, that can extend depending on how we fit.
I am not at all prone to entertain, overnight guests etc as I cherish quality alone time, however am quite affable for sure.
