We're a couple of writer/filmmakers who will be traveling in January and open to the right guest while we are gone - will also consider a pet, if you are traveling with your furry friend (please contact us to discuss). We live in a spacious, comfortable apartment in the heart of West Hollywood, a stone's throw from a modernist architectural landmark (the RM Schindler House). Our place is in a historic, well-maintained condominium building built in the 1960s with a shared pool/jacuzzi in the palm-tree-lined courtyard, and very kind, quiet neighbors. We have two bedrooms (one with king bed, one with double bed), one office, and two bathrooms (one with tub-and-shower, the other with shower); also an open-plan living/dining room, a fully-equipped kitchen with in-unit washer/dryer, a lovely patio balcony that is shaded by tall trees. Our living room is perfect for watching movies on the big-screen TV (Roku and all the rest), or enjoying our collection of vintage vinyl and library of (too many) books. We are walking distance from Melrose Place (and the farmer's market every Sunday), great restaurants, a supermarket, many delis/cafes/shops, and public transit by bus, or by Uber/rideshare. We also have two parking spots in our underground secured garage that can be available for use (we'd move our cars out when guests are here as needed). We have a dog (terrier mix, hypo-allergenic) who won't be here during your stay, but if you have dog allergies please be advised. Please keep in mind that our neighbors are a very tight-knit community, with young people and also a handful of elderly folks in the building, so we ask our guests to also treat them like you would your grandparents' friends. Our home is best suited to folks here on business or a traveling family who want a relaxing, cozy space in the heart of the city. Other notes:
- We would consider one small, relaxed cat or dog who might be traveling with you - please contact us to discuss
- No smoking (even on balconies; it is a building rule)
- Absolutely no parties / loud noise
- Cleaning fee is included; we will arrange a housekeeper to come once during your stay, covered by this
- There will be fresh towels and sheets left for you when you arrive; please strip the beds and pile used sheets/towels in the bathroom when you leave
- Utilities (including High-speed wifi) included
- We're on the 2nd floor of a 4-floor building, and have an elevator that goes directly to street level (through the garage), but contact us if you have mobility concerns to make sure we are the right fit
- Samsung Smart TVs with Roku controllers in living room and bedroom
- Air conditioning (note: like many homes in Los Angeles, we don't have *heating* but even in winter, have never felt the need for it, as the building is very well-insulated)
- There are two main workspaces: one in the guest bedroom with Aeron chair and Flexispot sit-to-stand desk, the other is in primary bedroom with traditional desk and chair. Dining room table is also a good work station.
