We are letting out our beloved one-bedroom apartment in Prospect Lefferts Gardens for nine weeks. The apartment is located in a tenant-owned elevator co-op and lined with artworks, books (art, fiction, cooking), records, and plants. It has 10-foot high ceilings in the sunken living room, a compact modern galley kitchen with a capacious, fully stocked pantry, an old-style New York bathroom with bath and shower, and a bright, sunny bedroom with a deep closet. A/C in the living room and bedroom. Laundry room in the basement. The space is ideal for a single person or a couple.
The apartment is a thoughtfully decorated and tranquil space, with original details from the 1930s. The building is quiet and friendly, and there’s a live-in super. We should note that the B/Q subway lines run past us: we’re on the top floor and soundproof windows reduce the noise, but there is a little rattling.
The location is excellent (see map in photos): the Lincoln Road entrance to Prospect Park is directly across the street, and a B/Q/S train station is a one-minute walk from the building, connecting to Manhattan in 20 minutes. If you prefer to cycle, Citibike is likewise just around the corner. A first-rate grocery store is located right next to the subway. The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Brooklyn Zoo, and LeFrak Center (rollerskating, boating) are a five-minute walk away. The neighborhood is home to several restaurants and cafés—including inside the park.
Strictly no pets. No exceptions. (We have allergies.)
Strictly no parties. (We value our relationships with our neighbors.)
Strictly no smoking.
We are writers and have lived in the apartment for more than a decade. We’ll be traveling for nine weeks and are looking for someone who is quiet, responsible, and happy to tend to our plants. We have put a lot of care into our home and our relationships with our neighbors. We’d like a renter who will look after our belongings and be considerate toward the other people in the building.
$3050/month rent (includes utilities and WiFi), $700 security deposit, and a signed rental agreement. The security deposit is due on signing of the rental agreement. First month's rent is due on June 1. We will promptly transfer the security deposit to you on our return, assuming all is well.
