I’m searching for a roommate for my sunny, amazingly located Santa Monica apartment.

This is a cute, comfortable, bright, and spacious two bed, two bathroom upstairs, rent controlled apartment in the heart of Santa Monica. It has an adorable vintage feel, with a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, hardwood floors, and large private balcony overlooking a park.

Up a single flight of outdoor stairs, there’s a very large, high-ceilinged living room with two separate seating areas and a big, well-appointed kitchen with brand new oven, recently replaced gas stove and dishwasher, and plenty of storage.

Your room will be the primary bedroom with attached private full bathroom with shower. It gets great light, is quiet, and is overall a peaceful, charming room. Will be unfurnished, clean, empty, and move-in ready for you. Plenty of room for a queen/king bed, desk, and other furniture. There’s a big closet that runs across the whole of one wall.

The apartment is located in a quiet, sheltered, leafy, walkable neighborhood a block off Wilshire in north Santa Monica. Trader Joe's and Whole Foods just a few blocks walk away, as well as bakeries, restaurants, dry cleaners, etc within walking distance. Opposite a well-appointed park with tennis courts, picnic tables, lawn bowling, and duck pond. Pickleball courts at the end of the road.

There’s free street parking with an annual permit (super easy to obtain from the city once you’ve moved in). I’ve never had a problem parking. There’s also an attached garage for storing surfboards, sports equipments, etc. Coin laundry in the building.

10 minute drive to downtown Santa Monica, 15 minute drive to Venice, 10 minute drive to Brentwood, 20 minute drive to Beverly Hills, 30 minutes to WeHo. Close to the 405 and the 10. Ideally located for beaches (5 minutes to the Santa Monica bluffs, 7 minutes to Will Rogers, 20 minutes to Malibu) and hiking (just 15 minutes away from stunning hikes in the Santa Monica mountains).

I’ve lived here for over three years, and it’s a great spot. The neighbors are quiet and friendly. Generally extremely chill vibes from the whole area, and I love how walkable it is. The landlord is responsive and repairs are always done quickly, the building in general is well-maintained. It’s a small building with just a few other apartments and low tenant turnover.

The rent includes water and trash. Other utilities (gas, electricity, internet) come to around $100 monthly each. Every room is equipped with a ceiling fan. No smoking and no pets (I love animals but the building doesn’t allow them unfortunately).

You: woman, late 20s-30s, chill, kind, clean, responsible, and respectful, with a stable and reliable source of income. Ideally would work outside the home/a hybrid schedule.

Looking for someone who wants to be here long-term and treat this as their home. I take pride in maintaining a very clean, peaceful, calm, and welcoming space, and would like my roommate to prioritize the same.

Provide me with two references to establish trust and rental history (one landlord and one friend)

You’re welcome to come and view the space if you’re local

Apply through the letting agency - this involves you submitting a rental application, credit and background check, and financial document check (I believe there are some nominal fees the agency charges for this)

After you’re approved, you’d submit first and last month’s rent to me as a security deposit

You would then be added to the lease under a ‘roommate addendum’, and would pay rent via me each month as I’d be the lead tenant
