A quaint one bedroom on the second floor (stairway access) on a relatively quiet street in East Harlem with quick access to the express trains. Rent is 950, and the utilities are usually pretty low, around 60 for electricity and 35 for internet. There is a community garden nearby, a Whole Foods and other grocery stores, tons of stores and restaurants, as well as parks within walking distance. There is also a little cafe/bagel joint on the block.
This is for a year-long 12 month lease.
One of the roommates is a musician that went to the Manhattan School of music, gainfully employed, and the other is also a young professional. The landlord is a lawyer and writer and a good guy. This is actually my second time living here with the same landlord and one of the same roommates. I would stay myself, but I am leaving NYC.
It is definitely more of a bachelor’s pad with some lag time between dishes getting used and cleaned, and the roommates are generally all pretty busy, but nice. Their girlfriends drop in once in a while. No drama.
I also just replaced the AC unit and added a bunk bed with a workspace, so there is twice as much room in the bedroom space now.
Move in can be late October, anytime in November, or December 1st.
I am the current tenant. I also lived here in 2021 when I first moved to NYC and have been back for a brief temporary contract. I can definitely vouch for the space, the area, and the landlord.
The landlord will require a background check and proof of sufficient income.
